Hohum..I kinda have deadline on this in april, but since nothing seems to move artwise these days, I pulled out tons of paperback books as reference and decided to make it more like a novel cover than my regular conans. Painter ps combo. Might be polished even more.
I`m giving cool style a break and going to practice making book covers and regular illustrations for a while, even if it means more guys and girls kissing..lol. thats where the money is in covers. hopefully I can pull of some decent horrorbooks samples. My agent in germany says the market there is big, atleast compared to oiled up swordsmen....
I also have a ton of scanned covers . I just realized I`ve had Anarchy Online related covers and ad artwork printed on/in almost every computermagazine in the world. There goes for just delivering the artwork to our marketing department, only thinking..phew..done..back to models and anims. never kinda thinking..HEY..it`s gonna be printed everywhere;-)

This shows promise. I would also like to see any horror covers you end up doing, wouldn't mind seeing a sample of a non fantasy cover also, just so I can get an idea of the type of work an artist has to do to pay the bills |

What I`ve learned over the years is this. If you`re insanly kickass like Bisley, Frazetta etc. You can live from only doing the fun stuff. If not, you gotta go and do work in the trenches with the rest. Still beats alot of other kinds of work though. |

everything works except for the chick--she looks way too contrived. and too bright in this terracotta light. excellent background...overall a great picture. I love his girly hair, it adds something special. |

Nice VEB! Maybe you could do something with the composition though? I think there's too much open space in the middle. Things are a little far apart. So I would move the girl and the warriors a little bit up and conan, a little right maybe. Other than that I think its cool!
I don't know if you agree with me, but here's what i mean.

why bother...it was rejected. The publisher liked the image, but she does want the"cheesy pocket book" cover look for conan...guessed so, still fun to make.
Then I thrashed it. |

Well, just because it didn't fit what they were looking for for the cover doesn't mean it isn't a good picture. I liked it. |
