Good news, everyone! I've purchased a server and the animation is now available for your viewing pleasure!
http://www.hedfiles.com/hedch2001.avi
21MB, DIVX 640x240
This is the completion of the "realistic jungle" thread. It's taken a little over two months to complete, and is now ready for your eyes. This is one of the feature animations for the new opening of the Sci-Fi Art webpage. Done in 3dsMax 3.
Thanks for taking a look.
Please enjoy.

wow! thats really cool! its more than worth downloading 21megs!! its just that the music doesnt really fit in with the animations.
greets,

Incredible... did you make that solo?
------------------------------------------
Tip: if you want to see it, you need to use getright, because the server resets after every 2 Megs and you need a "resume" feature.
------------------------------------------
Getting back your movie... it was very very visually stimulating, good job. As for the sound, I think upbeat techno would be more appropriate. Once again, it was -amazing- |

Hey, guys, sorry I'm late checking in. It's been a bit hectic. First off, the animation is off line for the moment. It will be available at www.scifi-art.com this Christmas. And the server will be much better. Anyhow:
The music - I disagree. I can certainly take your criticsim, but is this case, I really, really like the way the music interacts with the anim. Plus, it gives it that christmas fuzzy feeling.
And yes. I did this solo. Originally, my sis was going to do the music, but I ended up doing it myself. she's really busy this time of year.
And thanks for all the interest! Once again, look for it for good on www.scifi-art.com!
Toodles! |

Thats some really nice work, Howard! Very well done.
The only thing it really lacked was a generic 'punch', if you know what I mean... |

Very nice 3d, but what solo are you talking about? Music isnt original, and i heard no guitars or solo instruments. Solo = puzzle |

Ah, I see your confusion. I made the animation by myself (there's the "solo") I also arranged the music by myself. It's not original, of course, but I still had to write it out in midi format. :-)
Hope this explains it. |

Great animation!
The only thing that strikes me as odd is the gravity (or lack thereof) on that planet.
It doesn't show very much, until those two pursuing spacecrafts stop in the midair with the thrusters still going on full power. Think of the cool animation you could have put in there with the thrusters lessening it's power and some hovering thrusters goin online instead. Also the hunted spaceship makes some funny moves when it does the loop (considering there should be some gravity, that move would have had to be larger). Altho I'm by no means any gravity or animation expert, mind you. So this is all nitpicking really.
Still love it to death!
Much better than anything I could create in 3d, at this point (you've inspired me some .

Hey, I like it!
I think you did a great job with the animation and the shots. Good directing, it never slows down, and the plot was interesting. |

Wow, I agree, well worth the download.
And I think the music fit nicely too. It kinda sounded christmassy but sci-fi at the same time. Great job!!! |
