This fellow is one of many self designed dragon dudes.
I intended to give the viewer a sense of rush almost like you've just spun your head to look at it.
Trouble is nobody seems to like this one so hope you chaps will.

Can somebody explain what is wrong with that? I'd be thankful. |

What is UBB Code? Why does links and images not work ?
If you have already tried to fix it, you could try the ".jpg to .txt" trick ... that might work ... as it does on Geocities ..
I think the textures, glows/highlights are too busy ... some parts of the textures are sharp and in focus, such as the teeth and some patterns of the texture, where as others are blurred out ...
If I wanted to be suspicious, I could say that the image looks a lot like a skeletal head of a T-Rex with textures painted over it for skin, you were not to happy with the results, played around with some of the plugs in your image editor ... added a thin snakelike tail in the background ... and voila ..
Only you knows what really took place ...

Thanks for the advice. Actually, that sounds a good idea (your theory of the picture development) although it only started from an A3 sketch with a Biro pen. I did complete it and changed the hue/saturation and added a simple motion blur, other than that all textures and stuff, I did. Oh, and there aren't any tails in the pic - that is its tongue.
Thanks again. |

I think it could be better...the image looks too blurred. The motion blur doesn't make much sense IMHO. That bent-forward tooth looks like part of the jaw, making the tongue look much like a tail. |

Problem is BlackNinja that is a Chinese Dragon. Where's the imagination in that?

A dragon is a dragon no matter what coast it comes from.
I really like the colours in this one. But then I've always been partial to green! However I think the motion blur is a bit distracting. It would be nice to see the work you did on the scales!
I like the teeth mucho.

Can I recommend you look at the original drawing in that case, Vive?
No motion blur in this one. The reason I adjusted the original was to liven it up. I felt that such a huge monster should move a bit, and perhaps the movement adds a sense of realism? Not that it looks real. Sorry, I'm completely pissed- New Year and I shouldn't be typing right now! Oh, please look at my new Website! www.techno-art.co.uk. The original is called picture is ‘Bert in the blues’, please check it out!

I would love to look at the original. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to be up on your site. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot.
Maybe when you've sufficiently recovered from your reverie you could post an exact link? *chuckle*
Enjoy your new years!

ohhhhhhhh man, i love dragons :P - i esp love chinese dragons so of course i love black ninjas (besides that its just farking cool)
love yours audacity, tho i think it looks a bit messy (not that i can talk, but i can blame mine on being a messy drawer ) but theres a certain feeling of violence that comes through with your dragon, it seems almost mechanical, almost cyborgish/androidish, yet a dragon.
ohwell heres my little dragon, as most war2 players will know mines from the warcraft2 manual (copied) did it a long time ago

You've hit the nail on the head drgn. I'm pleased that the violence is evident! All my dragons do have a mechanical look to them.
Sorry there Vive! Like I said- I was very much under the influence! You were in the right spot, the problem was that I hadn't updated my website. It's there now though, and if you want to see more dragons (Loads of them) check out the Old Sketches section of my site.
Any way here is the exact page for Bert in the Blues. http://www.techno-art.co.uk/bluebert.htm |

Ah that's better! Now I can see all the pretty details!
Very nice, almost techno-organic. I like that. It's good and different. I'm not sure about the... um... tusks? *chuckle* I like the idea of them lots, but maybe they need to be a bit more round.
Just a suggestion for ya.
Great work! You know, I think I like him better in the darker colours. Makes him (he/she/it) more sinister.

For some unexplainable reason, Bert in the Blues has appeared at the top of this page(?).
Thank-you very much for the support, Vive. I'll know to watch out for your work in the future.
