I broke down. Please don't hit me.
Maybe 30 minutes, from reference. Comments, especially on values, would be very appreciated. Please forgive the sloppy proportions.

this new pic is not too well suited to the thread, but probably not good enough to start a new thread either. It'll get looked at here atleast.

Just joined today and figured I might as well contribute right off the bat. I think this took somewhere between 15-20 minutes with a "eat some leftover pizza and watch Sports Center" break in the middle.

Wow, there's so much quality work here, I'm amazed at how some of you're able to bring out the whole painting with such few and well-placed strokes.

I tried to do a "speed painting" but it doesn't quite have the realism I had hoped to achieve.

Just a quick going-away-card for a colleague at work. I've been using Painter a lot more for my work lately and it's fantastic - especially the dry media. Looking at the high-res printout you'd never guess that it wasn't drawn traditionally.

I think your the same guy (or girl), who;s
been posting for over a year and constantly
changes your username.

Your the one who copies art, (with the aid of software), then pretends you are the original artist. You know it pisses of true artists.

You get "off" on people insulting and responding to your posts. I am not saying all this for "your" benifit.
I'm posting for the people who don't know you do this kind of "cheat" work,(all the time), just to get attention.

Mr. T, I wondered whether you did this greyscale painting with or without reference. Looks really good.

palladia mors: I like your tanks! Awesome light. My favourite is the 4th one. Very inspiring ...

i'm in the mood so i'll crit&comment on everything

Mr.T: stop scribbling and learn something! I pity da fool.

Horstenpeter: values are good, but fix that skewiness (word?) man.

Boomstick: nothing to say, maybe you could try to make the materials a bit different.

Bare Bonez: that dude sure has small eyes

Switch: her hat is off... i like the general style

Palladia Mors: what does 'kaikkein pahin' mean?

Nori: i don't get it.

SporQ: yeah, it would be a kickass painting. and thanks.

Yeah Bob: jesus. is that radial blur on the bra?

Queezy: the trees are a bit thick, nothing much to say.

Prophet: 25-30 minutes... and worked 15-20 on the face? why isn't the hair finished?

Novacaptain: Don't think too much of achieving realism. Stuff looking real is just a result of doing the painting the right way. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say. do more!

Socar MYLES: i think it would look much better with more contrast, but it's good anyway.

Lihamyrsky: why are the strokes all placed diagonally?

Totuus: Feet. Hands.

SporQ: Really nice. only crit-the nose is a bit off

Rdgraffix:

The_Monkey: don't know what to say here. maybe if you gave him eyes? and ears.

Palladia Mors: tanks are good. 1st crappy piece - the guy looks like he has two left legs. the second piece seems nice, but it's undefined. looks like anubis or whatever his name is. can you explain the pic a bit?

Random: Blurry shit.

Igino: used reference. trying not to paint from mind... helps me learn many things.

- - -

here's one quickie i didn't plan to put here, but blah . very quick, maybe a bit more than 10 minutes.

cheers.
