Eastwood looks sveek, Palladia! Like him a lot -- very youthful, very flattering. You did a jaw-flooring job on the tank, too, IMO. Technical stuff (and der perspectiven what come wittem, very hard) can break an artist.

Rock on. This is one huge thread.

I was bored and haven't drawn in a long while. I've also been experimenting more and more with my graphire that I bought over a year ago. Anyway, I was doodling tonight and this came out. Not sure exactly what inspired it...

Anyway, it didn't take that long, so I figured, "what the heck" and decided to post it here, in the quickies.

have been watching this thread evolve over the last weeks and can't stop myself to throw my coint into it... it's so much fun to see such great stuff done in minutes. it is actualy my first post here on sijun and i'm kind of nervous.. have been watching it for quite a while though and you guys rock.. it's been so inspiring to see your stuff and so helpful reading the advices you give so generously.
so here i go :-) couldn't stay any longer in the dark :-)
aprox. 40min

20min or so

i'm afraid my work is not good enough for this awsome place but i'm just in the beginning of the learning process of drawing and painting and i really enjoy it:-) it's been less than 6 months since a first picked a pencil... no lessons or whatsoever just online tutorials and over the net advices so any comments will be highly appreciated :-)

grat work everyone! keep the thread alive

Hey everyone!
A buddy at work and myself have started doing one or two speed paintings a day.
We try to keep them faster than 30 minutes each. I started a thread called...Daily Speed Tests or
Daily Speed Tests
Check it out, or tell me to add them here. I just thought this tread was getting kinda bulky.
Thanks

I am new to the digital art world, I REALLY love the way you guys speed paint and how the strokes are somewhat transparant. I recently bought a WACOM tablet and haven't used it yet, I have photoshop as well. My question is, what settings do you use with your brushes and such? I am interested in trying the style that is used in some of your paintings and those of goodbrush.com How do you go about starting the paintings? Where do you change the opacity, on the brush or do you change it on the actual layer? Also, are there any good sites with tutorials? Any help would be VERY appreciated! I am very eager to learn more about this style..

Madcow Most people here use round brushes although I also use squarish ones like I did on bruce lee up there.

If you double click the paintbush tool you can check opacity, size and colour. Lay down an appropriate background colour and start painting with large brushes and work your way down to smaller brushes. Paint light over dark. It's good to use photos for reference.

have fun.
