Greetings from Switzerland !
Hi everybody, I'm new in this forum and also a newbie in digital art. I discovered lately Flash and did some drawings with it. I don't know Photoshop very well but I have been impressed to see what youguys do with it.
This has been 100% mouse-drawn in Flash.
* feel free to comment my work
* Which are this advantages to use Photoshop vs. Flash ?
*could somebody give me the adress of a good Photoshop tutorial ? I'm really exited to learn to use this software.
Thanks a lot !
Peacekid

Really nice.
- WasteYouth Not there anymore... anyone know if it has another link and what it is?
- EyeBall Design this one's pretty good with nav bars... but has links to some other good sites.
- phong
- OZONE This is the first Site I found and It's still a good one...
- Deaddreamer Only has a few, but I've used them and has some really nice pictures.
- Emma This is a good Adobe Illustrator tutorial for drawing faces that look like Aeon Flux
Hope these help. If you find a site you like always check out their links cause most awsome tutorial sites have links to other really cool sites... how you think I found this one?

HI -
First of all, I am very impressed with what you did in Flash - it looks awesome!
The primary difference between Photoshop and Flash is rastar versus vector, respectively. Flash is a vector based (but not specific to) application that is really intended for creating highly functional, interactive web sites, multimedia or self running presentations, and it's animation capabilities further embellish the outcome. Flash's vector output allows for smaller file/project size; that is why is very popular on the web - it helps streamline data transfer.
Photoshop is better suited for outputting bitmaps. Illustrators, specifically those with traditonal media backgrounds, find Photoshop a better application, because it allows for more painterly, illustrative effects and custom brushes. Photoshop is considered an industry standard for any digital, graphics professional.
I am not saying one is btter than the other but rather that each one has a specific strength. I personally use both. -t |

Neat stuff... why aren't you posting these in the gallery?
Any chance of seeing a larger version of the last two? |

woah those are pretty awesome. everything i've seen from flash up to this point has been minimalistic(including my own), but your illustrations are complex and realistic. i want to see more. |

Wow. I am scared to think of what you might do with Photoshop. Also, have you exported any of these to .swf? I'm curious about the file size. |

by god man why would you draw anything in flash when fireworks has more tools or illustrator for that matter..anyways I cant believe that's a flash drawing it's so good!!! That's hard to match in photshop let alone a vector program ![](images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) |

Damn. I'm really having trouble believing you did these in Flash. But, if you did - they are pretty awesome. I agree that Illustrator or Freehand would be better vector programs (easier to use imho). Get photoshop and I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what you can do. |

it all looks great! of course they're all too perfect to be realistic.
the only problem i have is the strawberry pic. the black background colour and the chocolate colour are too similar. I only figured out it was chocolate after seeing your example. at first i thought it was a strawberry transforming into water. |

Hi Peacekid.
La version pas--pas dont tu as donn le lien est tres interessante, mais ne donne aucune information sur la manire dont tu les as raliss... Remarques, j'ai trouv a gnial juste de voir le procsus (Exigeante ? Mais pas du tout ! Juste tres curieuse. )
Now, if you (or anyone else for that matter) would be interested, I could scan a few pages of the "Visuel de l'alimentation" (The Food Encyclopedia) where *every single* image was done in vectors. It's a hm.. I'd say 300 something pages big format hard-cover book.
I was in awe looking in that book (I was working for the editor and saw the book there).. And said aloud "wow, this is nice.. I wonder how it was done...." and some guy having overheard me came over and explained everything as he was one of the illustrators
I might not be able to scan it TODAY or in a few days but if someone's interested I could make the effort to break in their headquarters and borrow a book (plays own theme music.....) |

This is great. I especially like the strawberry. Also the style is very very very similar to www.vectorkid.com <- probably the most well known flash photo-realism crazyperson ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Your work is fantastic!
I am a newbie, and I didn't even know it was
possible to "paint" in Flash.
If your bored some day, will you tell me how?

Saying what has already been said. Your flash drawings are tres fantastique! Being that I draw with a mouse as well...I can especially appreciate the work. As far as photoshop and flash go....it depends on what you want to do. Really though I find them as two different beasts. Anyways though that's just me.
