I decided to do a portrait from my imagination this time. I know it looks rather unfinished, but still wanted crits. Plus, I really kinda got tired of this one and wanted to move onto something else. Anywho...here's the portrait (no photo ref. used).

My only real critique is that it is a little too "bright" or glowy. Maybe taking the background colours and making them a little darker to make the woman stand out more.
Other than that, I think she looks great. Boy, what I would do if I were a two-dimensional airbrushed digital man! Hubba-Hubba!! |

first off, you named her? heh. creative. anyway, I few problems I noticed was that everything seemed really smooth except the hair. also, her hairline doesn't go with the contour of her face. it would sort of peak at the middle of her forehead I think and then move it's way up ever so slightly. (we can't make her look like she has a widow's peak, now can we?) next, I would make some deeper shadows on the right side of the face, underneath the jaw on the neck, and on the left side of the nose (there's no drop shadow from it.) I would add some deeper more defined wrinkles to the clothing too. all and all, a very nice job! I love those lips! the anotomy seems correct too. nice job. |
