Man, I`m almost spamming this board now.
Ok.I got tempted, I started to add color, and I`ll continue until it`s done. I`ve also managed steered clear from the dark "Boris" side(for those of you who have seen my 2-3year old work, you know what I mean)

Ok..this should actually belong to work in progress, but since the rest of the trheads are here, I`ll keep it here.

There should only be one more post with the "gothbabe" label, and that should be the finished one.

Personally I like the metal blades on her shoulder.

i do too, those blades are wicked. i gotta ask what kinda brushes you use in painter, and is that background a scan or did you do that in painter too? personally i think this is way better than anything boris could do, i really like it and dont think you need to worry about it looking like his stuff

Hey you can spam us all you want with this type of material. We need more of your kind posting and showing us how to tweak a painting so that it is optimal to the viewer and artist. So don't think for second I, for one, am getting tired of seeing your art, whether its the same one revised 10 times or new. I haven't seen any of Spooge's work, but I really admire your and pierre's art and hope to see as much as possible. Although you have a website one can go and see more or your art, pierre is like the Bobby Fischer of Art to me, pops in to unload an awesome presentation and poof, their off for another month or two.
I for one think your art is at least 90% distinguishable from Boris' work.

isn't her head quite big?
and isn't her crotch very low?

i don't want to sound too negative, you're a great artist, but i've seen better from you.

Hmmm.. I also believe the head is too big, Veb. Please don't take offence, but I feel that is your biggest (and perhaps only) weakness that influences your work in a negative way (somewhat disproportionate anatomy at times).

I find you to be one of the very best fantasy painters around these days, and I'd imagine I have 80% of your stuff archived on CDs. Sometimes though I just feel a bit uncomfortable with the balance of your pics. It doesn't happen very often, but I thought I might bring it up in hopes that you can take that minor criticsm and work with it positively.

Then again, what the hell do I know? :/

Beautiful Veb! I really like the near-monotone look here. Her right hip seems a little off(her stomach line doesn't reflect a real bend in her side there, but her hip is way out there). And her head's too big :] Great work, spam all you like!

Nice, very nice... wicked blades, awesome piece... Awesome that is if you are looking at it in sections... I don't want to sound like a dick, because this is awesome, but the head is too big as others have mentioned, and I think the belt being really high gives a weird optical illusion of the hips also being too high, making the body seem squished and the head look even bigger... if you either lowered her hips or put the belt where her hips are at the moment (which I think is significantly below the belt) you would have a superior piece. As is the proportions hurt my head alot. only because so much talent and time is being wasted and blasted to smitherines on simple proportional issues. Easy to fix in the process, hard to fix after inked and colored... seriously man, amazing... but proportions....damn hurting my head, my head! AHHH *splat*

Oh, part of the belt issue would be that it is not slanted whatsoever and it appears her belly button is at the top of the belt... a might high I would gander... *looks at himself* yay, my head isn't gone... *splat*

ahh, yes... hence the whole belt issue... fix the belt and the proportions will (while not being perfect) look much better.

Veb,
I like the costumes of these goth babes that you have been doing a lot. It is inspiring me to want to make better costumes for my one work!
As far as a crit is looks nice but I like the original goth babe better. This one looks a little bit to much like a copy of a photo.
Also those new characters on your web site rock!

Great job!
One crit. Her head looks a little large for
her body. Or, you needs to show the top of
the other shoulder.
Other than that its fantastic!
