The Russian vampire known as a 'vieszcy' gnawed his own hands and feet while in the grave but at midnight he escaped attacking cattle, ringing church bells and seeking blood...

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhehae great pics lately Cos. A bit on the gruesome side lately but quite good. You have a lot of style. May I ask how old you are? Just asking because when you reply with a young age I can become depressed and even more self-concious.

Was the quote/literary reference/folklore the inspiration for this?
- or did you find the quote/lit. ref./folklore that best suited your image after having painted it?

What a freaking great picture Cos man. Adding the body and the hand has really completed the pic, and I like this style. Definately very cool.

The face looks much better.
The positioning of the arm coming out is sort-of wierd but livable.

The highlights on the forehead cheek and nose are a bit too hot.

I'm loving how you can see the "build" of the painting. Nice and rough in all the right places.

I love the hair as always. (This time it my favorite part)

BTW...."ringing church bells" doesn't sound all that menacing...I like the idea of knawing on one's self though...yum.

, I just turned 24 this month so not as young as I'd like to be, but you shouldn't be depressed about ages, your profile says your a high school senior.. (not that you should be at any age)

Highfive and Satan - would love to take the credit for it but it is a quote from old folklore about the russian vampire, was half way through the painting when I remembered it and thought it would be perfect this, so that helped inspire how it turned out.

(Satan - don't be silly man, I wouldn't take something like that as a dig)

Yeah the face is better than that first version, was just too deformed. tho it did lose an impact that was good about it before..

Agree with the highlights, I did try toning them down to get it a little closer to hand which I prefer, looks more realistic.. but it was just losing something.

Thought the same thing about the church bells too, tho you can blame the russian legend for that heh.

whats the fixation with the hair? next time I'll paint a wig shot just for you heh.
