Hey board members.

I'm beginning to think I'm doing something completely wrong with this idea I had.

The Idea:
I was trying to get DrawingBook.com to be one of the top visited art gallery sites on the net, which pretty much does everything for free as long as I can keep affording to host the site.

I don't have a web programmer to make it automated yet however I am still working on it and updating it manually. But for some reason I'm not gaining the popular interest as I thought I would have, nor are people taking advantage of the free web space I'm offering.

What I want to know is if anyone here who doesn't have a gallery online, or anyone who already DOES have a gallery wouldn't mind getting a hosted spot on Drawingbook.com to help make it grow. It's free and It would just be another place to get exposure. a Consortium/compilation of art!.

People can say I'm using them to help the branding. Yes, I am. But at the same time if the site ends up doing well It could explode and everyone who is involved in the site could get benefits by perhaps getting jobs out of it, a cool fanbase, a artistic community sharing ideas. Chances to win things in the future. All the cool jazz that should be free and should be fun.

Anyhow If this makes sense at all please feel free to hook a site up .

All the member pages are templated to look the same the only thing different is the art placed in them, the URL of the member(I.E. http://www.drawingbook.com/yourname/ )
your bio, your picture, your contact info and your resume.

Please feel free to post your comments. Thanks for your time!

Well... I don't think I'll be going there again... it's either down, or loading MUCH too slow. The kind of site you're trying to display, should load very quickly, and offer the visitor, a quick means of navigating. If you're expecting hits, you've gotta please people... right off the bat.

I'll have to liken this to television... if you're flipping through channels, and NBC is 'off the air,' what do you do? You just keep flipping channels, is what. There are tons of sites out there, so you have to be sure that yours is one that not only operates... but operates smoothy, and operates smoothly all the time. It's essential.

Good luck. I'll check back, to see if this is a problem resolved.

The site was prety quick when i checked and not at all heavy....in fact it appeared a bit too sparse.....i think u really need to improve on the layout to attract users and make them stay there.....though the concept is nice
