I launched my official site today and my first trailer for my upcoming DVD thingy. I thought I would mention it here for anyone interested. It's anime looking. I worked really hard on this thing though and no sleep for the last 4 days so....I just wanted to post about it.

Hey, The links to the movie did not work ?
I'm not sure if you wanted crits on the site or not but im going to anyhow :P The site looks nice and clean and i like it, easy to navigate etc .. my only concern would be the size of the page. I run in 1280 X 1024 and i still have to scroll down. I know you might have wanted it like that but it just does not fit in my opinion, you might want to make the table height 100% and not fixed pixels.
One more thing to note also is that it does not fit in 800x600 resoulution. Im not sure what your target rez is but most normal peeps, us not being them but they run in 800 x 600 so about 760 x 420 in the browser, i noticed that in 800 x 600 you scroll to the side, it just makes it kind of hard to read and all you know..
but hey these are just my opinions and shit dude plz dont take anything the wrong way, i like the layout of the site etc.. im just trying to help, bring it to the next level ? if that makes any sense
later

thanks for the feedback. I did make the image just like really tall...I am all about the art rather than anything else. So where normally I would have made it squeeze into 8x6...I wanted to just let it go a little. Sorry for the inconvienience. Seriously..thanks for the feedback.
Not sure why the movies aren't working. I'm getting loads of feedback even right now from folks. Maybe waiting till a little later when the traffic dies down some. Anyways though thanks again for taking the time to look and see and such. Do check out the trailer when you can...that was the bulk of my work ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Looks very cool. Will this have fully animated characters in the final thing or will they be more single-framed as in the trailer?

You have a very cool style and sense of design but with out any kind of animation in a trailer for an animated film I would have to say this was rather disappointing. I know you can animate I have seen animated characters at your website in the past so I guess I was expecting a but more ![](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

Yeah sorry about the Bandwidth thingy...I fixed it now...we're trying to handle all the traffic. I guess I didn't expect quite this much reaction. We tried doing this mirrored klinda daisy chained thing....to keep the bandwith open from Dementia7 and Jynetik....but the Mirror weas slammed so....no worries. Thanks for taking the time to look. I am making a DivX version as we speak so people can download it and folks who like DivX can do that so.
Thanks NextGen. This will have a plot and all...concerning traditional 2d character animation...nope. Don't have the time or resources. The trailer is the best idea of what it will be visually...but the trailer doesn't have any of the actual footage from the DVD...cause that's being worked on now. So in essence...the trailer is like a demo of what's to come rather than a preview of actual footage. To give a better example of what i am talking about when I say "Manga Comic" rather than "Full traditional 2d" It's just easier to show the visual.
Anyways thanks for the response...I appreciate the feedback and alternate software versions of the trailer should be available soon. |

Thanks all for the compliments and the critique.
So why don't I animate? The website of dementia7 has been revised twice this year....each time took 1.5 months with no sleep. The desktops on Jynetik took around 3 months the website took 4days. I have a stack of papers around 5-6" high of outtakes from the DVD...pieces that didn't work. 5-6 inches is almost about 4-500 drawings. The actual DVD right now has around 500 drawings and breaking those down into actual assets runs over 1000 which have to be hand drawn in flash by me alone. Not to mention the 3 script rewrites. The rendering in Lightwave takes like a Day for a fly by of a car or something...not to mention the modeling of things like chairs and such...which take me aroun d the same time to draw. Let alone designing things like tv's and buildings and weapons and clothing and everything else that goes in a movie. One of my little five minute Digital movies like Robin In Lights and Jynetik take me around 2 months to do. Being that those are nothing but effects means...that special effects will take me around 2 months...alone for like five minutes of effects. Animating one character takes me around 5-7 hours for 1 second at 15 frames per second...this is at 29.97.
From the very beginning I knew this movie was impossible...but I never let that stop me
So I cut out animation and I saw some daylight. Yes it will be dissapointing in terms of people wanting the next Akira...but I can say that a fully animated terrifically done movie is exactly what I am aiming for in terms of the Feature film. We all have to start somewhere though...or the film would remain what it is now...just a dream.
And when this DVD is all said and done...no I'm not forcing people to buy it....It'll be on Ifilm and I'll try and get it around to whoever I can like Streamload and such. Unfortunately the full movie in DivX will probably be like 2-300 megs so....I don't think that a great too many people will be able to watch that. So they can try IFilm or...they can buy the DVD. I am looking into every avenue I can...to getting the movie out free to anyone who wants it. But let me tell you those options are limited.
I am working as hard as any ten people can..I promise that every ounce of strength I have is going into this. I missed Thanksgiving and was giving up christmas but...the fam didn't think that was a good idea. So I'll drop New Years to make this worthwhile. I'd give up sleep and socializing....but I gave that up at the beginning of this projekt.
So I apologize for the dissapointment...and I feel you. But I think that at least some movie...is better than no movie at all. And becuase I see it that way is why I am still working on it. Also in light of any hope of animation...D7Peacemaker Stage2 stands a really good chance of being partially animated. And if some investor actually gave me money then...it would be fully animated
Concerning production really quickly. I am going tonight...to burn the Trailer on DVD and test that so this is fairly exciting for me as well a little to be concerned cause...I'll know if I did it right or if I have to now mess with the stage size and all that which is yet another headache and ohh yeah....just putting it on DVD means Country codes and NTSC/Pal and I don't even wanna talk tech or distribution so.
Thanks again for the compliments and please don't let the dissapointment last too long cause I am working really really hard on this and it'll definitely be something cool. |

Dementia - Definitely don't sweat it... I think it looks awesome and quite unique. It definitely seems like a whole lot of effort went into the trailer alone. I'm looking forward to seeing the full feature if I can. Keep it up ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Hey, D7 I think its great your dedication to this project. It's a lot of work to do something like this at the high quality your doing it in. Keep up the good work.
And hey.. Do you play RO? or visit the RO-world forum as this person Keiichi? cause if not someone is leechin off your characters. |

dementia...i think the problem here is that you are in a hurry. I am also making my own animated film using flash to be exported into quicktime.. anyways I have 1000's of drawings and back ground paintings done but im noit pushing it. I go home at night after work and I sit there and i animate for about 6 hrs everyday ..it is slow going and there are some days I only get 5-6 drawings done so it takes about a week to get 1 second of animation...but big deal im not in a hurry to get this out and i want to do it right so I dont do anything else..no website.. no concept or fun art... just that animated film.. you might wanna think about what you are rushing for?? You have changed your website a bunch of times also and I dont see why the website you had a year ago was already ahead of it's time... ![](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |

RO = Ragnarok Online (http://www.ragnarokonline.com).. its a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing game in the style of Anime. It's kinda cool I played the alpha and the beta should be out in the next few days.
Anyway on this site www.RO-World.com there are 2 people acutally (keeichi and kasera) in the forums using a few of your characters in there signature and there avatar. Keeichi is one of the staff members of Ro-world.com im pretty sure. Anyway thought you might wanna know how your art is spreading ^_^
Great stuff /me loves ^_^ |

Thanks for the support all
No I was never Keeichi...on any board..I am Dementia7. And the only ones I know is a Renascent.nl, Flashkit, SysEx and OCAD...ohh and the A-Kon board.
Mainly why I am rushing? 3.5 years ago I was working at Blockbuster Video. I never graduated the 9th grade...and up until 3.5 years ago...I never touched a software program at all. I have no college or anything of that nature. Well now....I'm a lot farther off in terms of accomplishments. I had this idea for a movie...I made this promise to this girl...and so I am working to make that possible as soon as possible. I'm chasing a dream....and I don't want to slow down. I had a day job as well....I did the 40 hour a week thing...and then the DVD was going to take till the end of next year to get done. I decided that I wanted to be real...live on the edge. So I quit the job...got broke and put out a trailer.
Why do I update the site? It got published in a book. And then the fans....and constant requests for more more more....more images, more story, more movies. I built a beast...and now I have to control it. In a sentence.....
I have a million things to say...and a million ways to say them.
Besides...if making your dreams come true was easy...then everyone would be doing it
Byt the way....what is RO? |

Dementia,
I like the motion graphics, music, and design. Animated scenes would kick the trailer up another notch, but I read you explanations.
Anyway, looks good. I can't wait to see more ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
