Im not much of a painter... but I really want to get better. Heres my b&w portrait of Jim Morrison.

cool, I'm quite a big Jim Morrison fan myself. I think this is a good start, there is a resemblance.

Did you use any reference? If you didn't I think it would be a good idea to do so, do a few practise runs so you can learn his features a little better, then have another go.

it's all practise, the more you do the more you'll improve, just keep going
