He's interesting -- has a nice metallic texture to him, albeit slightly blurry. If you were to clear up just parts of his face (IMO, the eyes and bullethole could be crisp to draw the eye from point to point) it would improve the whole. It would emphasise the mood, as well -- he looks like he's in awful pain, so crisper flakes around the eyes might convey this. Make them stand out the way the jagged bits of his mustache come up -- which, on the mustache itself, would be better smoothed off.
Sorry. Nitpicking on things. I do like him a lot. |

Sharpen up those details and get some good and creepy clarity in there. Some nice blood spatterred about a bit, with nice cisp highlights and shadows about. I like your new version a bit better. Looks like you are going for a textured look...try adding in a bit more randomness to the texture. The top right white stuff is just annoying. It doesnt seem to have a purpose other than to blind me.
And YAY! Another nick cave fan. *listening to O'Malley's Bar" |

some clarity has been suggested but i don't want to have blood emphasising whats already there, immense pain
PS. I think the white looks good, it resembles some kinda emptiness in his head
