Ok, well.. it's not really candy, but it looks kinda like candy doesn't it? All the shiney, sparkly colors.. *smacks her lips*
Anywho, I think this is a record for me - fastest texture(s) I've ever done. There's a little challenge going on at another forum and the theme is flags. I realized I hadn't finished one yet and the deadline is quickly approaching. They didn't come out all that great, but then I didn't really expect them to. Hoping to get a little more time to spend on them later.
Four flavors for your enjoyment.

Hey Jezebel,
Those are neat. I like the snake. They didn't strike me as flags though. My first thought was that they looked like satin bed spreads. Why? The triangular fold and its thick seam as well as the rest of the seams give it a thickness suggestive of a bed spread. Not that you couldn't have stuffed flags in some futuristic place.
Hope that's useful and not too critical.

Rad - Thanks. Yeah, they are a little padded looking, but that sort of what I wanted. I picture them being more like decorative wall hangings rather than "flowing in the wind" flags. I wanted them to look satiny and expensive.
Joe - KILLLLLLLLL!!!!! *sweet smile* |

I think you succeeded then. They would definitely make nice decorative wall hangings. Especially if you liked snakes! ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I love candy........we love candy! (the song)
I was in the mood for some candy, you lied!
but then your flags, or bed sheats cheered me up because they're shiny, and I'm attracted to shiny things

hey those are wicked. Love those sorta cameo things. Little pictures, and packed with so much information! great work!
really expensive looking to. Maybe you should make a little shiny Visa or Mastercard for them. |

wow impressive!
i like the way you plan and make those details very much.
agree with above opinions about the thickness issue. i guess it's because the wrinkles+light effect on it don't match with the flat edges. with that kind of effect, usually people not expecting to see a perfect rectangular shape.
my two cents, anyway .
but hei, they surely looks yummie! |

Very pretty, Jez. What's a flag without those crinkly bits around the edges?
When doing textures, do you use layer effects like Hard light, Overlay or Multiply? How much does your texture work differ from your paintings? |
