Several steps through the process of making that wolf pic I did a while back. Thought someone might find it interesting/funny :> Gah this pic feels so old and stupid now... heh...

Click the ^^^ underneath each image for a larger view.

Step 1 - Oogly sketch (in photoshop) to grab general placement of features:

Step 2 - Start blocking in large areas of color, somewhat determing shadows/highlights at this point:

Step 3 - Adding in smaller details. Individual hairs, stains on the teeth, "spokes" in the iris of the eye:

Step 4 - Continue adding hair...:

Step 5 - ... getting weak... so... many... hairs... Also threw in a bg. Basically some green scribbles with a blur:

Step 6 - Just a little further a long, slowly working my way outward:

Step 7 - Getting bored yet?

I remember this one! Back before I was on a connect that would let me post again wah. The detailing on the hair is really impressive. My mom loved the picture 'cause she has a thing for wolves. ^,^ How long did all that detailing take you?

Amazing Jezebel!

The fur is way too real. Holy shnikes that's an awesome painting. It's got a really great snarl going on there too. Everything's great I have no crits.

Jezebel, you really know your stuff. I really enjoyed how you showed us the steps you took by blocking in the colors first and then going in with the detail. Great work.

Don't have time to reply to them individually cause I reeeaaaally need to get some breakfast in my belly and start updating my website. ^_^

Thanks so much for all the kind words, I appreciate it.

As for how long it took me, it's a little hard to say. I worked on it off/on for 2 days or so and by that time was pretty tired of it so I put it away. Maybe 3 weeks later I pulled it back out and finished it in a couple of hours. So I'm not really how exactly how many hours it took. The hair is what took the most time, but after a while I'd get to rolling pretty fast with it so it wasn't THAT bad.
