I just purchased an Epson 2000p archival inkjet printer so that I can begin producing my own archival prints - limited edition runs. Kind'a cool, eh!

Epson claims that their archival ink prints, properly cared for, will last for 200 years before noticeable color fading. I say, WOW! Suddenly I'm looking at a piece of equipment that will allow me to market my work to anyone interested in it - not an inkjet print that will fade during a humid hot summer, but one that will actually last archivally. I'm pretty excited about it...

Where to start with my "limited edition" print runs...

Clearly I think I have some pretty good stuff that I've recently done digitally, but I also have quite a bit of work that was traditionally done that may be saleable as archival prints. For example, the two collages below... What do you think? They are a bit dated (done a long time ago), but they've always been some of my favorites. There may be some copyright problems in that, at the time, I simply clipped the photo images from magazines, and have absolutely no idea at this time who the original photographers were...

These are scans from traditional media, so paper wrinkles, etc. are all evident...

fleabrain: I'm a big fan-boy when it comes to your digital stuff, but I guess I have a bit of a problem with the more 'traditional' art. Not that it's aesthetically unappealing or the content. I guess I just find it hard to appreciate more experimental art.

I dig them, especially the second one.
Simple, nice.

You're going to have to stretch the paper before you scan them next time though, those are both pretty wrinkly!

[Shizo]...

Not paint overs -- check out this tutorial which pretty much shows how I work...

...and BTW, I am offended. I have no idea why you needed to write what you wrote. It was offensive and mean spirited...

I really like the second picture you posted. The only thing that bothers me is the placement of the handheld mirror in relation to her face. I just wish there was a little wider area inbetween the face and mirror..

I generally go for the realistic stuff, as you usually do (clearly not paint-overs ), however those collages still show great amount of skill, with great composition, etc. Nice work, as usual .

[Shizo]: You're an idiot, bro.

I dig collages. I know it might seem like it doesn't require much skills, but it requires good judgement to make it look nice. These collages that you posted are nice. I actually liked the wrinkled textures, and I like how the paper have turned yellow-ish. These effects matches really well with the collages, especially in the second one (I can almost hear ragtime music playing in my head when I see that one ).

Thanks for posting this kind of stuff.

These are styling.I appreciate people who try open new doors within the whole world of art and are not afraid to experiment.I find it much more challenging to produce something original rather than being a follower.
Nice
