This is based on a place I pass with the bus on the way to work every day (some artistic freedoms taken ). Got inspired to do this a cold morning a few days ago:

Before I read your description, I was thinking "bus ride to school on a cold morning." The atmosphere is spot on. Thanks for sharing.

All the trees and the buildings in the background are painted in quick strokes and transluclent colours, and they work quite well. But the road sign in the middle just stood out really sharply, somehow I feel it doesn't match with the rest of the picture.

But nevertheless, it's an awesome picture.

Wow, it really is quite beautifull. I get all kinds of interesting emotions looking at it. Most of them are dread for going to work monday... but that's not your fault.

Thanks for sharing!

Very cool! I like the mood in this one. And about the speed limit sign, I don't find it disturbing the picture at all, it's purdy good in fact.

Actually, I've done a similar painting, "Finland in November", and considered adding a road sign to it but never did... here's a link to the pic: klick haer!

This is great! Love the mood, very good attention to detail and I like the way it's painted so loosely, you did a great job.

I agree with the road sign sticking out. Focal point ?
It's very nice but gawd it's depressing ! How do you manage ??
Guess I'm most definately a city gal...

I like this overall, i like the speed limit sign, but i think the sign stops the eye when the road is leading focal point to left. You could refine more on focal area and bit foreground so that painting would gain more depth. Really don't have any bad comments on this..

Thanks for the feedback so far!
Ripelly: Great pic you did yourself. True, it is quite similar - and much better.
andskj: Yep, it's Norway. It's from just outside Oslo.

About the sign: I've got some mixed comments on that. Overall positive ones on other boards, more negative here. I decided to put it in to add some interest and authentisism (?). In fact, without it I think the picture would've been pretty dull and unbalanced.
I can't see any composition problems with it. Sure it's a focal point, probably the first thing you see, and then you have several lines going left/into the picture from there and then lead you back into the picture again. Well, to be honest I didn't spend much time on the comp on this one.
And I'll stop rambling. You're probably not reading this anyway....
