Did this piece off of a beauty and the beast concept. I am an open door for harsh critisism and always appreciative of compliments.
You can see what a couple of friends of mine did for the beauty and the beast concept at my webpage. You'll figure it out, don't worry.

Right on. I look at Matt's stuff for sure, along with Disney's and other animator's work. Also influenced by comic books from here in the US (we all learned to draw comics from body building and fitness magazines), over in Europe (calmer style, more human and less artificial), and Japan (every one of them John Woos with a pencil). I like realism with character so to speak. Destined for cartoons I guess but maybe we can bring the characterized quality in cartoons to other illustrated media, like fantasy book covers! Ooh ya. Styalistically I feel that I am one in a crowd. Who's RedLeader?

The picture is neat. Just one quick crit on the guy in the background. On the left side of his face is a bunch of dark lines. My attention is drawn there, but I don't think you want people looking right there. Perhaps you could clean it up a little.
Hope that makes sense. |

Dude I completely forgot to mention in my list of influences possibly the greatest influence of all and thanks to [666]flat I remembered. Not only Monkey Island but Lucas Arts in general. I grew up on Day of the Tentacle, all Monkey Island games, the Indiana Jones adventure games, and Full Throtle. I dreamed of working for Lucas Arts forever growing up and then kind of forgot about it when I got to college! Aaaah! The dream has been re-awakened! At least if I don't work for them I will bring their quirkiness and humor to everything I do. [666]flat, that was the best compliment that I've ever received. Thank you so much.
