Done in PS 4.0
It's an image I'm workin on for a special lady for Christmas but I'm not sure what I wanna do with this one totally yet. Which is why my lighting is a bit ambiguous to the surroundings right now. It's still in the early stages. I might put her in a garden still or near a waterfall or both. I dunno. I'm not really aiming for ultra photo-realism with this piece either. I want it to indicate my style. Alright, enough rambling. Any crits, comments or ideas are very welcome even though it's no viking warrior or battle scene
I know it isn't 'finished work' but it could be stand alone. I just will probably modify it. Sorry for the confusion if there was any.

It's looks good. you've kinda captured that dreamy look which I believe is hard to create. I think it'll work better with a softer more blended hazy effect though. and I'm not sure the highlight on her right shoulder and collerbone should be so bright. nice work |

it reminds me of the cream cheese commercials. something bugs me about the brighter light on her face. it may be because the whole picture is rather bright to begin with (maybe try adding the inbetween 'core shadow'?).. but if it wasnt, it would lose the heaveny feel. 'tis nice none the less. |

A very special lady indeed. Nice legs/hips.
Good work elf. Show us what you come up with for the finished piece.
Take it easy,

There's something odd about that right shoulder and arm, but, lacking sufficient talent, I can't tell you what it is. Her deltoid looks to bulgy?
That's a tough angle, though.
Nice work. |

Nice stuff Flex! The face is lit a little too brightly as opposed to her body, making it seem a little inconsistent. Great work so far though. |

hovair - Thanks! I toned down those highlights a bit I think you're right
Icannon - Hehe yeah a couple people have told me that it reminds them of the cream cheese commercial I don't know if I'm going to stick with the clouds or not. I'm torn between a couple things right now.
Malachi - Yeah she is. Thanks! I hope it turns out alright in the end.
elam - I see what you mean. I messed around with it and hopefully toned it down a tad. And also you're talented dangit and I value any crit you can give me
Frost - Hey Frost! Thanks! I messed around with the highlights on the left a bit to try and tone down the intensity of the face hightlights... this one will be an ongoing thing because of the possible background change.. but I dunno yet. **scratches head** You should come to paintchat!
Shijima - Yeah you're right she does look a bit like Jennifer Grey in the painting

Great Pic sofar and i really like the other stuff you've been doing, insofar as what you have on your site.
My suggestion for where you may want to go with this is may be a jungle scene with steam rising off the river. Lots of greens and a good opportunity to work out interesting lighting in a location like that.
As for a critqe: I think elam was on the right track about the shoulder area, but not quite. The neck seems to be a bit off center from the body. may be center it's base a bit closer to her left shoulder. Otherwise it is a very solid drawing and think you've done a great job with the face, don't mess with it IMHO.
Keep up the good work and i hope she's enjoys it. |

Sorry i did a quick paint-over of your wonderful drawing, to illustrate what i ment. Hope i didn't mangle it too bad.
1. i moved the left side of her neck over a bit, not much but a bit. 2. i brought up her left armpit a bit. 3. same with the top of the shoulder. 4. moved the strap and 5. arched the clavical so it met with the new position of the shoulder.
the left arm may need some work and by no rights do i say that the neck and shoulder are 100% in the right position, but maybe you see a bit better where it needs help (IMHO, as always).
Thanks again for sharing !!!

Pretty good Flex man! You might want to consider making the background a dark blue evening sky, and have the stars just get more and more dense under her heavy weight areas(elbow, hips most of all). You need some other colors in there for contrast, and since stars appear at night, it might be beautiful! :] Just a though. |
