Well, I think the skin and the clothing are beautifully rendered, as ever...the rips in the stockings are a particularly nice touch. I also like the colour of her hair--very interesting.

There are a couple of little things that bug me, though--first, her bangs--they seem solid and plasticky, not wispy like the rest of her hair--maybe it's that purple smudge between bangs and skin--just doesn't seem quite right.

The other thing that bothers me is just a matter of personal taste--her expression, although perfectly believable, is not pretty or sexy.... I wouldn't exactly call it ferocious either...she looks more...disgusted...than anything else.

I don't mean to be rude, though...I really do like this, apart from the facial expression. The costume is awesome, especially.

Your sexy gothic leather-clad subject matter and the glamorous paint style you use is always impressive, Fallen. The sheen of her pink hair looks great!

Really not sure about how you've painted her face, however. Somehow it looks like it's a flat cardboard cutout attached to a real body. I think it might just be that the nose doesn't share the same lighting as the rest of the body.

Sorry if it's such a cruel crit. It's just something that I noticed after a long period of scrutiny.

Also, as a alternative (and silly) suggestion, could you paint Aphex Twin's face on one of your pictures?

I really like it. The only problems I have with this piece are in her face. And that's probably just because I don't find her attractive. =/ The hair is great and the costume (as usual) is wonderful.

Take it easy,
Malachi

I really like this one. Since I've been working your work I always found your subject to seem very .. how to say.. 3d (not as in computer generated 3d but solid). In fact, what strikes me the most in that piece is that she seems very very tangible. Also, the body in itself reminds me of a flawless and marble statue. like you'd crack a bone if you'd rush at her and embrace her. I may sound slighly delirious but .. anyway.

About her features ; it's NICE to see a face that has character and differs from the usual model features ! Please guys don't flame me, but I've grown tired of all the same face proportions and likeness in the beauty standards that seem to be very well generalised.
Altho maybe what's putting pff some of the other people here ( ) are perhaps her bangs being at mid-forehead.. or maybe her eyes being slightly small ? *shrug* I think she's looking great and the picture is strong.
A place my eye wanders and lingers is the white space between herleft breast and left shoulder. I may be wrong, but it feels like a shadow variation is missing there. The lower connection of her arm to her body seems incomplete. That'll probably take you 2 seconds and a puff of airbrush but here are my couple of 2 cents
Spare change yay!

Personal I love her face, she doesn't have to be a supermodel to be sexy and "ferocious". I wish more people could realize that. Supermodel women aren't what makes an image good or bad. I think this piece is awesome, but I agree with Socar about her bangs, and I think her nose is a tad flat. Overall it's great though, especially like the colors you chose.

Thanx for the feedback all....

Socar - I had a lot of obstacles with her hair as it is really that thick and full. I considered thinning it out a bit around the bangs but decided to leave it full to match the rest. I'm somewhat glad that you find her facial expression disturbing as that was the goal. I wanted her to look as nasty, but sexy otherwise, as possible....just to give it a little attitude.

m703-324 - That's the problem with low quality jpegs, the original is very crisp. As far as backrounds go, it's rare that i use anything to busy as I don't want to distract from the model, which is my focus.

Highfive - Not a cruel crit at all. Her face seems to be the focus of all the crits. And, btw, i laughed out loud when I read your comment about Richard D James. I just may do that, it would be funny as hell.

Malachi Maloney - Read above responses.

egerie - Thanx. I agree. I was baseing the lighting on a 3/4 front left light, so there would be no other shadows on her breast i don't think. I don't quite understand what you're saying about her lower arm??

Jezebel - Thanx.

Joachim - Thanx Joa. I've tried going toward a more indepth direction with my lighting and colors, as is probably noticable in my last 3 or 4 pieces. I like this one, but I still think my last one was my favorite so far.

Thanx again all.

aeem it's not unusual for me not to make much sens at 5 am Fallen..

But anyway, if you say there is no shadow here then allright ! I was just being a little suprised since it seems to be the picture's focal point (and it's usually the kind of curve I like to see ). An intruiging curve where the deltod, superficial pectoral and breast fat converge... Err sorry got distracted

Anyway, I did a little something before you replyed. Now the point is moot but it can at least illustrate what I meant. And btw, I wasn't talking about her lower arm but the lower part of the connection of her arm to her torso. Bah ! The barrier of languages.

*crawls back to her doodles*
