Hi hi,

Here is an acrylics piece I'm working on. I got bored of it, since natural media is so slow to work with, and since I don't dare to 'kill my darling' (remove a nice detail that doesn't fit in) when working with acrylics.

I took a photo of it and 'finished' it in PS instead. Well, finished experimenting anyways, all that's left now is to actually paint it. Ugh.

Crits concerning the background and colorchoice is especially welcome.

I'm also making a documentary/diary on this, which can be found here: http://www.prometheus.f2s.com/main.php?page=knightdoc

Wow I can't beleive no one replied to this yet.

That's freakin amazing, I really like your mech lineart stuff. I like the whole green to red transition in this image, the composition works really well, I think it does anyway, i wouldn't know. Sorry I have no good critique to offer, just gotta say that's really cool. Probably the best thing I've seen all week.

Again, I have fallen completely for the overwhelming sense of style in this picture. I love the mood, sir - but yet again, I am unable to offer a matured critique. Just wanted to let you know that I do indeed like it.

Wow I like it.

The only critique I have would be that it is a little bit hard to see what is going on. If you look at the character in siluet I dont think it reads that well. But its still a cool pict.

wow, great pic!
but i think the sword need some more highlights on the edge, it looks a bit muddy and that make the sword look dull.
But in overall the pic is awsome, love it!

Glad u liked it, I'm still very unsure about the quality of it. Rubbing it down on paper with a brush won't be easy, especially since natural media lacks curves/color balance and clean colors. Sometimes when I paint I instinctively try to push the undo button, which of course isn't available :/

Defiant: I've been involved in several mod/tc groups, but unfortunately those groups are very unstable and rarely result in a game, so I dunno really.

JCL: Yah, I know, I wanted a bith of both worlds; some impressionism and darkeness, but at the same time not too dim to hide what's going on. I'll see if I can make it clearer somehow.

Poxen: Yah, I know the sword really sux, I should darken it and make it a bit thinner. Perhaps add some shapes on the edge.

i like it, just love that style.

you wanted crits on the colors..
i cant really say much negative about them, the contrast you are using works great, and personally i really like those colors. you might wanna do something with the top of the background so the image doesnt get too heavy in the bottom (this is just my 2cents, it might be better as it is now).

-great

Fantastic!
I love it, the colours, everything! I especially like the bottom right corner and the lava, which work very well.
Congratulations!

Very very nice. Love that info page you did... will you leave it at that or develop it further?

Abit of comments: The blade decoration on his back is not very well seperated from the background.
The sword is too brightly lit and is not painted in the same lightsource condition as the rest of the figure.
Lastly - the cloth between his leg has a nasty outline feeling that really flattens out that area. Maybe paint the whole cloth in reddish color, since cloth usually is a little transparent when opposed to exreme light (lava in this instance)... just some suggestions...

,Boom

Demonic.

I like it.

The green hue of light to qrange-red lava
is a great contrast.

What happened to the skulls ?

I'm not very familiar with acrylics, but I'm going to take a shot at this.

Ahem..

It's really neat to see a subtle gradiation in warm colors to cool colors or from one shade to another.. I think you could try doing that here, like putting more warm [lava] in the lower left corner and more cooler colors in the upper right corner. Also, it's kind of hard to tell what's going on.. mebe making the foreground or background lighter or darker.

Other than that, I'll shut up because this is awesome *bows*
