back to the 80s. Looks a little bit like a cheap flesh movie from the 80s tropical heat.

Nevermind.

Thanks tilman! That is the exact response that I was looking for.
Cheap and old are definitly great things that people look for in good art. I'm realy glad that you liked it - barf, gag, choke, barf again.

Well, if you didnt like his responce, how about...Your lighting is wrong...the anatomy is way off. The composition doesnt make very much sense either.

Also, lay off the filters...it makes things looks "cheap"

Keep practicing though!!! With more observation, effort and practice, I think you can create nice work in the near future! Your imagination is very creative and that is important!

Robert,
Thanks for the ass ripping (said with a smile).
That is more of the type of respose that I was looking for. A real crit.
I don't agree with everything that you said but you do have some valid points.
I know that my anatomy could be a lot better and I'm consistantly trying to study and learn more. I think that the lighting may look off because it is a cologe of characters from different images. I did that because it is a enter pic made just for the purpose of giving the viewer a chance to see what my art looks like before entering the rest of my web site.
In respose to the filters looking cheap. I only used them on the logo. I've done a lot of work in the packaging industry and for those people using quick effects is the way to go because those guys realy have tight deadlines. But now that I know that it might be a issue for people the next logo I do I will light it myself.

If anyone eles has anything to add to these comments please feel free.

First off...I did no ass ripping what so ever. I gave you a critique. Everything I said had a valid point. I wouldnt have even made the critique as negative (verbaly) if you hadnt had such a bad attitude about the last guys critique.

I agree with what the last guy said but I put it in more of a constructive critique by telling you what to change about the image.

What I dont understand is why you voted me at a 1 to lower my stars. That was a childish thing to do. Did you do the same to the last guy who critiqued this picture (I am sure you didnt like what he had to say either)

Another critique I have for you is to take a critque a bit easier. We are not bashing your work...we are not bashing you...we do not mean to make you puke or tear you a new ass...we just respond to what you ask for.

If you dont want a critique dont post your work. Other than that you seem to decent work. Just practice...thats all I am saying. (in a non-ass ripping way...got it?)

I have had worse crits from paying clients. You have to learn to not get emotional, especially when it's related via email or in this case a posting. It's hard to tell what's implied.
As for crits, I would suggest you think about your colors and layout more. You really don't need a complex background(esp. the main page) and brightly colored text, I think your work stands up pretty well on it's own. Less is more in this case.

OK a couple of crits

Looks a bit cheesy, i suggest changing the background of the image to something a bit more tastefull, maybe some of your artwork instead of the filter.

Second again the text looks a bit cheesy, imo ditch the purple boader and text, change the font.

That aside, i like your artwork.. think the things people above have suggested would improve it alot. Looks more like your entering a porn site at the moment, you want people to look at your enter message and show off your work to make them enter.

In reponse to the crits that I've gotten from this Image. I think that I did learn something from this.

1 The subject matter that I usualy choose to paint is a little on the 80's side. I like artists like Frezzeta and Ken Kelly but I guess people had seen so much of that stuff in the past that it is a little old hat. So in the futer I will try some more curent subjects to paint.

2 Never use filters on a logo unless it is going on a mustard or cleaning supply package lable.

3 Keep studying anatomy. I try my best. Maybee it will seep in one of these days (said with a chuckle).

4 Yes and last the thing about trying not to be emotional. This is going to be hard for me if not imposible. I just can't help it I realy care about my work!

I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for your input see you next time.
