her nose has a little bump at the end you missed. her eyebrow is shaplier, and you over exagerated her top lip. shes very cute, worth getting it right! |

Very nice line work.
The left eye(Her right) seems to be to flat on her face. Doesn't seem to give off that perspective there.
Keep doing those studies. Everyone helps. |

Awetopsy...
Well, the real gal is cute. The drawing gal is cute. But they don't look anything like the same person if you ask me. I'm not quite sure if you were just using the photo as a pure "reference" or if you actually wanted to make a portrait of her.
It looks as though you've tried to give her more model-like features, maybe out of habit from drawing those types of women? Don't think you did it on purpose or anything, but I think she needs some changes.
Your drawing looks more like a bright blue-eyed blonde girl with full lips. The girl in the photo has very pretty dark eyes and hair that should be recognized since it's a very distinguishable feature. She's also got nice thin, elegant lips. In your drawing they are a little too full and wide.
Hope this helps some? |

Well, Im definatley not a great portrait artist..
roundeye: good eye... I originally had the bump in there but somewhere along the way I ended up erasing it and I wasnt near the photo to remember to put it back in.
jHof: good point. any suggestions on how to fix that? somehow eyes and perspective together eludes me.
Jezebel: yeah your right. I do make them too model like... Ive really got to get away from that. great points tho. thank you.
originally I started from the phioto as a reference but I walked away with my sketchpad and barely looked at it again... so I ended up using the photo as more of a mental reference.... |

is this any better? what else can I do?
it seems as though, whenevr I want to draw a copy of something, the sketch I do turns out perfect, but when I get down to the finishes I lose it and it never works the way I want. |
