i really like the character in this painting, very interesting.
Critique: Well the lighting on the tower and the creature just seems too bright for the fact that it's night outside, and the light looks more natural than articial like say a torch or lantern of some sort.
<edit> Plus the reflection on the shield appears on the opposite side of the moon, as well as his shadow on the ground would lean more to a light source from nearly right above him. </edit>

I agree to light unless he's being flashed with xenon headlights(you never know...). The second is very good and realistic. Reminds of bob ross salsa flavored. |

the second one is very nice, almost photo-realistic, would like to see a larger version. How much time did it take you to paint it, and did you use a photo referance? |

I like it, but I have to agree with the other comments on the first picture. Maybe you could move the moon to the top right corner and paint the character like it is lit from the moon. I think it would look better as a picture with the moon bigger as well.

Thankyou for the comments on the lighting. It wasnt planed very well because the night-sky background was an afterthought I had.
I did use reference for the mountain pic also. |

Give the moon giving more of a blueish cast. It'll make it look more night time. |
