WOW! that rocks man! the upper lip in the ref isnt as prominent and it seems like his mouth is a bit open but whatever. awesome work!

WOw i would like to mirror roundeyes comment. The only thing i can think of to improve on is the chin points out too much. other than that perfecto heh

A few suggestions..

I think you added in some unnecessary detail .. i know it's hard when you have such a small pic to work from, but I think some stuff like removing that circular shape in the midde of his forehead would improve it a lot. Unless you want the guy to have bumpy skin, don't include that. there are other ways to stylize the lighting like i've seen you do, almost like making 'cuts'.

I don't think this guy should have the lips he does. At least make the lips the same value as the skin, because that's what it usually is, unless there's lipstick involved.

Be careful with your lighting .. like, pay attention to your approach. In cases when you're depending on a small photo for reference, you kinda have to imagine the depth yourself, and the lighting that goes along with it. Just be careful, and be aware. I guess that's it for that. Maybe it goes along with the excessive detail thing too.

about that lip thing.. I guess hes just about to open his mouth to say something on the photo. I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. He has a more straight mouth then the one I did on my pic. Well, I don't think I'll change anything, this was a quickie, I don't know how long I were working on this but I did it in one sitting last night, and you know how easy it is to miss those small important details when you're doing things without a break.

docfunkalot: Thx!! hmm, well I guess I could post the picture in earlier stage. here it is.

I'll might do a tutorial some day.

Nova: thanks!! This guy is a alcoholic and a drug addict and there for really wrinkely, maybe I overdid it bit, but I think I want it that way. I think it makes the picture alot more interesting to look at.
You're right about the lips.. I have a problem with lips, I always get them to look lipsticked.

Need to work on that..
This was a quickie, I never had the intention to make this look photoreal.. I just wanted to capture the creapyness of this guy.
