In the bottom picture the soldier should stand closer to the wall... right now he is sniper fodder.
Anyway, I like the pictures. Have nothing much to crit. |

The first one has a great style...what did you do to get all those grooves? Also are these both digital or paint?
I like the second one as well....great mood! Although I have to agree that the guy would be blown away in a second by a sniper. But that has nothing to do with your illustration, thats up to your story.
Anyway GREAT WORK!! Love it! ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Wow!!!, I really like the second picture. I love the contrast in the picture and the painting style, love the monotone look. If you havent used any reference thats incredible, cause if I squint, its looks almost like an old photo.
Keep it up

Alright, thanks for the comments so far!
Both are done 100% digital and without reference. The portrait was done using Painter Classic.
Hmm... the soldier is leaning back to get a clear shot with his pistol at the nearby enemy flanking them. He has to expose himself in order to do that... his sniping comrade is wiser and hugs the debris. |

JayCeeL, it's interesting how different people like or dislike the contrast in that piece. And yeah, I kind of tried to make it to look a bit like an old photo. It's still far from it, in my opinion, but I'll try to do better next time.
a.t.: heh, refreshing... thanks. |

cool stuff man, I like them.
I think that first one might look better if you put a bit more shadow getting cast from the helmet and lose the eye, eye looks a little too cartoony for the style. Hands seem a bit small too.
Second one is great, no crits really.. good shtuff. |
