The first one seems to have an awfully large neck... looks like it will break any second.

Very nice looking, I like the detail you put into them.

If that womans neck is any longer she might pass as a giraffe. unreal

Hello Steve, and yes, I did recognize the models. Especially the old stork looking woman, I remember drawing her in my early terms. I'm eigth term, maybe 9th term honors next semester. Later.

oh wow, great lines, heh I never could get a handle on line thickness, I'd use it here and there, mainly in the outlines of themodels I would vary my line weight, but the shading always ended up looking the same cus I cant figure out where to shoade and in what way... oh well, these are great man, I'd love a photo of the giraffe lady

I was wondering if you knew any students from moorpark community college, we have at least 2-3 people from the life drawing class being accepted to arcenter every semester...

wow, accidentally pressing 'back' in the middle of writing a post really really stinks...

anyhoo, shahar2k, since these drawings were my first attempt with line-variation i dont think i have much to offer. what our instructor recommended was to keep in mind the location of the light source when working with line weights. giraffe lady's light source was from the top-left. so the stuff on her face that points to that was supposed to be light, and stuff that points down would be dark. like the bottom of her brow, upper eyelid, nose, chin are all dark. the top of her nose, forehead, lower eyelid, etc.

ah cool, yah some of the other things you can do with lines is use them to "ground" your subject, creating weight where you need to, in combination with shading for example a thin line with heavy shading can imply light curling over the edge of the form, and using heavier lines adds weight to that part of the figure,
