Hello and thanks to Cybertoker I am in this board. I will post work from time to time in this thread. I really don't like to take a lot of space, but one for all to view. Any comments or feedbacks will be greatly appreciated. I know there are some talented artists inn this place so let me here it. With that I leave this oil painted that was recently stolen. With that in mind, I will be forced to do something about it. What I will do will be left for me to decide. Again thanks for having me aboard.------------Luis Diaz

Thats really great! Monkey is right, you nailed the lighting.
If you dont want to take up too much space, then display a bunch of paintings all in one thread.
Too bad it got stolen... how exactly? phisically stolen, or copied / ripped by antoehr artist? |

My site will open on Halloween so stay tuned. As far information on the painting well some gallery owner said he couldn't find it after I had left it in his gallery for a possible upcoming show. The show never took place and one day the gallery was opened and with no one inside. God knows if someone came in and took it or the gallery owner is trying to screw me. But LD doesn't get screwed. Not if it involves my art. I will fight until I get some conpensation. Eventhough I wouldn't have wanted to sell it just yet and now to no one. Atleast if you know who you sold it to, you can ask for a loan for an upcoming show. Well that is all I have, but trust me the sonavabitch will pay. Sorry I am not so emotional on threads, but I haven't spoken about it for a while.-----------------Luis

Very nice Mr. Diaz! As everyone else said, great lighting.
I noticed one thing that kind of bothers me, but its totally subjective I think. The anatomy where the rib cage and into the abbs.. thats kind of wierd, no? Kinda looks like some skin just hanging over the abbs. I've never seen it that way. Care to give some explanation?
Great work! Want to see more. |

damn.. thats a frikkin cool piece luiz. Like this alot, great idea, really cool colurs. The guys face is excellent.. Something reminds me of Kent williams work in Blood, I think it's the colours. Ever seen his work? Anyway, look forward to seeing your gallery! and welcome aboard =) |

Your choice of color is excellent.. I wouldn't call it dark art but I think "gruesome" art would be more appropriate. The red catches my eye first, I don't care that much about the guy in the middle, but the background along can make me feel nausious (in a good way, like Francis Bacon's paintings).
Good work, can't wait to see your website. |

Interesting--- I don't think I have seen something so latently sexual in a bit. Very well done-- especialy the monkey picture. Compositions are strong, and subject matter very interesting. I feel uncomfotable while looking at your work-- which is amazing, since I find that most artists do only a mediocre job at inflicting any emotions. You have me hooked-- please post more. |

Thanks for the great response and comments. I can totally see the difference off this board already compared to the ones I usually post in. You guys know what your talking about (Atleast so far). Well Aquamire you might see a little oddity in the figure because I was trying to exaggerated his position and show more of a strain and tightening of his body. He is engulfed with blood. His rib cage..well to me sometimes I feel muscles almost popping out from bones. Sometimes I feel muscles can be trapped under bones in certain postures so I guess I painted it like this. If anything to further show his odd features.
Anyways Cos. Yes I love Blood and know Kent Williams's work very well. It is so hard to break away from some artists and their influences. As for the color scheme it just happened, but I can totally see Blood in there. His work seems so loose, but when you look closer (I saw originals at a convention once) you see alot of detail and work.
As for eveyone that commented keep them coming and thanks again.---------------Luis Diaz

I really like the details and crevices you did with the muscles and veins etc.
btw, if I come accross that painting and the person that stole it, do you give me the permission to rip his arm off and beat him with the end that bleeds ?
I know it sucks to get art stolen like that. > |

By all means Egerie, do it and then photograph the guy and send it to me so I can do a painting out of it.
Jezebel: No monkeys were harmed in this painting it is all special effects and the blood and is the monkeys. It is mine. |

This piece is not a terrorist plot or anything. It was done in 99 about the time of the school shootings. It was a reaction to what I think of the youth today. Emotional and need for attention. I sent this as an entry to a Korn CD Cover Contest for MTV.

This is a piece I did this week. It took me two days and is for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. I donated it to be auctioned off tonight here in Miami.---------Luis

I thought I said no monkeys were harmed in this painting, besides it is only my imagination. Made baby Jesus cry? Is he back already? By the way things are going in the world I wouldn't be surprised.-------Luis |
