That looks sharp.

Im not exactly sure what foot bones looks like. Should the toe look like that? It looks too long and there is no joint.

Hey DD,

It looks like you spent some time studying the skeleton for this piece. In the event you were going for accuracy: here are some anatomical crits.

The condyle of the mandible is missing as is the mandibular notch.

The scapula is all wrong. It lacks a glenoid and its connection to the clavicle.

There are 12 sets of ribs in the human skeleton.

As already mentioned - despite this perspective - the cervical spine looks too short. There are 7 cervical vertebrae.

The radial heads in the forearm are not seperate bones.

The symphysis pubis bones are thinker than you have them here. As well you are missing the ischial tuberosity on the skeleton's left side.

On the skeleton's left leg, you have the fibula on the inside of the tibia, when in fact it is on the other side - like you have it on the right leg.

And, as mentioned above, you have the feet on the wrong legs.

Dynamically this is a nice pose and your illustration technique is clean.

In the event that you are looking for medical illustration work, however, anatomical errors in portfolio work will leap out at a medical person (like spelling mistakes do to an english teacher). Thus taking you out of the running for work.

Radiater.

ps. In the event you did this for your own personal artistic development: good on you. I don't want this crit to come off as harsh.

pps. Are you any relation to the [rl]Deathdealer of Q3A CTF fame?

*gets flashbacks from anatomy courses and zealous teachers* I need to plunge back in those books tho. sigh..

Still it's nice. I like the use of negative space created there. But I'd like to know the why of the posee and ribs. Is there a story behind this ? I hope there is..

Haha Shaded, it's hard to stop being a geek. I mean look at us, we're on computers surfing forums. I think that makes us both geeks.

Death Dealer, did I forget to mention: I take x-rays for a living. I'm paid to know the skeleton.

Take care,

Radiater.
