It's technically not 'digital', but I'd still like critiques.

This took a month to paint and was done with oil. The photo reference was something my dad shot (no copying out of magazines and such).

To show how 'loose' I was working, heres a detail shot.

Those interested in seeing a larger version of the whole thing, go here: http://gnarg.slackworks.com/MTimages/Barn1.jpg

This is my first oil painting in the past three years, and the other two times I've tried oils I was pretty young had no clue what I was doing. The barn itself is a real place that sits off a road very close to my house. The actual painting is almost four feet long (its a bit more impressive in real life than this little picture of it). Again, c&c welcomed and needed.

Don't worry about those digital 'purists' out there I like it a lot. How big was the actual painting?

I think its beautiful.. This forum seems to be more about Art in general, since alot of digital art has its roots in traditional media..

good work. thanx for posting it.

wow, nice one. my only crit would be on the accuracy of the tires and their treads or whatever, since it's a technical object. other than that, i really dont know what else to say. great job :]

Well it seem's nobody is greatly offended. cheers!

roundeye: Thanks!

Ripelly: Thanks . I was 15 when I started it a month ago :-/

FireFry: hehe.. 'digital purists'. haha. The actual image is something like 24x36 (four feet was a wrong estimate)

Icannon: Hmmmm. Are the treads the wrong shape? You're right...they don't quite seem right, but I can't put my finger on it.

fleabrain: Thanks

Dryfire:

Shiro_tengu: mwahahahah. good point! *evil grin*

Yep. Love it also! Oil painting is pretty cool. just a shame that they dry "so fast". =)
crit: Some parts of the barn looks slightly "overlighted" (looks flat) OR those areas just need some detailing. anyway; thumbs up!

you never stop to amaze me!
question( no offense) do you think you would be able to paint or draw from real life in that quality too?
Maybe I should start drawing/painting from photo reference too-sometimes it can be easier way to studie from I think.
