Hello people, I've been more than inactive on the forum front lately. but, I'm glad to see that this forum is up again and hopefully I'll be able to post a more frequently from now on.
I guess there's a lot of new people here now since I was here last time, but it's nice to see that there are still some old familiar "faces" here as well.
anyway, I posted this on lumental a while ago, but it's all I have at the moment which I can post/share. but hopefully som of you haven't seen it, and it's a start anyway, though it isn't much.

Joachim: I really like the rocky/snowy background.. looks like watercolor. very nice.. only thing I can say is, I find it a little hard to tell if the character on the left is a guy or a girl.. but I think thats because of the age of the characters.
Great work as usual tho. |

i love the work you've done on this game. it's a very cute image, but i too had no idea that the guy on the left was a guy until somebody asked on lumental. his lips are quite large it seems, but it's hard to tell (and you shouldnt take my word for it). also, their sleeves kind of have the gloss and edge of a rocky material. it's totally great anyway though (love the girls face). cute, neat, nice :] |

HEy Joachim. Long time no see! great piece. I like the way how the mountain seperates and provides focus for the people in the front. Is this still concept art for that one mountain game? =)
Great as always.. one small thing that's annoying me is There's no indication of the person on the left's ears? I keep thinking that her ears would be the same as the one on the right and poking out of the hair
hope to see more work from you soon. Drag micke in here too ! =) |

Hey I liked this when I saw it on Lumentals....and I like it here aswell(real nice comment Lukiaz)
- Nice textures overall. Their tops look like there made from that really comfy inner material....polar fleece I think. Yeah, that textures perfect.
Why are they touching noses?.
Thats how the indigenous poeple of my country greet one another(NZ).
Cute pic ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Hi Joachim good to see something of you over here again. Excellent pic but I've allready seen it at lumental and there was ones version I liked better (The right girl wears a different skirt-sorry forgot that the one on the left is a boy ). In my opinion it's not important that you do not see the ears of the boy. |

That is almost too cute to look at. The background is gorgeous too.
I have to agree with the comment made above about the little guy's ears though. Seems like there should be some indication of them. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Hey Joachim,
I actually saw this image at Lumental. Unfortunately my application to join that board got rejected , so I couldn't post a comment. I quess I'm not good enough
Anyway, I just wanted to add that your attention to detail has relly improved within the last few peices of art you've posted.
Keep up the great work!

Joachim!
Way sweet pic man as usual.
my only crit is that the snow looks a bit 'plastery'. But that might just be me. Excellent work.

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind replies ! I'll give a quick answer to you all....
awetopsy, thanks. Yes, hehe, many people have said that now. I must have def. made her more masculine in some way she shouldn't be. Hard, since as you say, they are both young and don't have clothes that nescessarily tells you what sex they are.
Gothic Gerbil, thanks gothic, very appreciated !
icannon, thanks ! Yeah, I see what you mean and agree totally. This picture is a result or hasty short cut techniques, and it shows.
quasar, thank you !
dryfire, Thanks. I'm happy it makes you happy
EvilToilet, Thanks. Yes, this is still for that same kid project, mountain game thingy. But, it's not concept art, this one was used in the game.
the ear, yeah, I can see that it can seem wrong. Though, one thing that makes it hard, is that she has this big hat and hair, and actually she don't have those pointy ears. She's not of the same rase of trolls or whatever they are
-yup, I hope to post more here too, and, I'll drag micke over ;-)
lukiaz, thanks! The thoubhing noses, well it's how they do a "friendship kss" in their world. And, The whole story in this game is that the blue pointy hat trolls don't accept and others, especially not the red trolls. But, then in the end of the game this blue girls, which you play becomes best friend with that red one amd then she learn her whole race that it's ok to accept. It's a racist thing. So in this picture they kiss goodbye. Well, there you have the whole story behind the picture
nil900, thanks !Hehe, no they are both girls ! hehe, everyone seem to having trouble seeing that. I guess it could be easier to see if you see the game hear the voices, etc... About the clothing, in some way I agree, but it was something I was told to do, so I had no choice.
morgot the dark lord, Hehe, thanks you are too kind ! I'm happy you like the pic, very appreciated.
gordillo, thank man!
dixter, Takkar....Me, up to. Well, I've worked my butt off to complete Blfjell (this game) and then I quit Innerloop so I've been without computer and internet at daytime for a while (still am actually)...I'll try to become more active again though, it helps on the inspiration as well, so I miss it.
dark_thorn, Oooh, you are too kind. Thank though
jezebel, thanks jezebel. Yeah, that ear on the "girl", hehe. Well, she don't have pointy ears, that's the reason actually. But, when you don't know the story, I can understand that this picture can look a bit confuzing.
morbid guy, Thanks a lot !
jamoch, thanks for a nice compliment. I'm sorry your application was turned down, I don't really know the criterias, but I'm sure your work isn't the case. anyway, don't let that pull you down :-)
blackmunky, thank you. Yes, saw the email ! I get really confuzed on which mails I've answered or not. I was sure I answered yours, but obviously I haven't. So, be a bit more patient and write you back, promise !
flexible elf, Thanks ! Yeah, agree plenty about the snow. That is a bad result of not having time to do it decent. Just adding grain and texture to his the roughness, and it gives a wrong impression of the surface.
Thanks again you all.....I gotta run ! Later |
