... for an essay about evolution. do u have one ?
something like this:
A process which led from amoeba to man appeared to philosophers to be obviously a progress, though whether the amoeba would agree with this opinion is not known.
B.Russel,1914
but no abstract poems please. :^ |

One of my personal faves from The Onion, though I very seriously doubt it has any relevance to your essay.
DOLPHINS EVOLVE OPPOSABLE THUMBS: 'OH, SHIT,' SAYS HUMANITY.
HONOLULU--In an announcement with grave implications for the primacy of the species of man, marine biologists at the Hawaii Oceanographic Institute reported Monday that dolphins, or family Delphinidae, have evolved opposable thumbs on their pectoral fins. |

hehe thats cool. thanx. it will work as quotation for my essay i think.
the essay is about evolutionary computer algorythms, so it has no direct relevance, but anything funny about evolution goes. fine. |

any quote from Douglas Adams )))
I wish I could help but my Hitchiker's is with my friend Jing. I just KNOW there's something good in there...
incidentally, Adams's initials - Douglas Noel Adams - spell out DNA.
if I can find anything I'll post it here, but I think Jing will be away until later
good luck with the es |

How about this one:
"Many [people] were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans."
--Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
There are others but I'd have to find them first. |

yeah very funny ideed it were good if a word like 'evolve', 'evolution', 'gene', 'species', or something like that would occur within the quotation.
douglas adams is a very good idea. he wrote also a book called 'Last Chance To Se...' about some rare animals. there could also be a good sentence within. gotta read it again.
i could need lotsa quotations, impalers and firehearts (thanks!) will work, but it were good if you find some more |
