I think Adolf Hitler is a very interesting subject in art. And he was an artist himself, too, as most of you will know.

Can't say too much about this piece, since I don't know too much about photomanipulation. It looks nice, like an old photograph, but then again - that's what it is. Might help if you posted the original.

I like the main texture in the photo. The highlights are pretty wel done to, and even though i like the "frame" i think you could have done it better. But all in all good!

I don't think it's tasteless. The image doesn't really place Hitler in any context, it doesn't glorify or promote anything.

I like the textures and colours, well done.

samson,you're right, it dosnt glorify or place him in any context, but the picture is allso obviously not hand done (no offence taltin, it just looks like photomanip to me)

but assuming it's a harmless piece of art, is like putting up a burning cross on a grassy hill, and saying it's just a little exercise in painting. what you have to realize is that this kind of picture carries with it a significant amount of extra baggage, coming from just the subject, and that people will react to it in relation to the subject because of that baggage....

anyways, I personally think it's not tasteles, but it is "provokant" as taltin said. so it achieved it's goal then, it provoked.

An image is not the same as it's subject.

An image is an image.

But a reflection in light and time.

It can only cause discomfert if it is attatched to a unpleasent memorie. If that is the case then the person effected has some issues to work out. In order to fully enjoy your life. It would be wise if you would lighten up and set aside the dark you so love to grow.

The things and people that this image portrays have long been over and dead. If you are still dwelling on this then I have a suggestion. There are far better things to focus your mind on then the pain and hate from then. Open up your eyes and enjoy this moment. The past is the past, only you make it's effects last.
