I love the details on the lizardman's skin. But its chest does look kind of flat, like he is wearing a lizard skin sweather inside that lab coat.

Colors are too flat. Play with the curves in PhotoShop.

sweet. always nice to see a fresh interpretation.

I like the cropped image better. The wall in the background is freaking me out. The view of the figures suggests an extreme perspective, but the wall has a pretty flat perspective, maybe if you could make the lines of the bricks converge toward the bottom more dramatically, and also tilt the whole wall or image so the hard vertical is not so parallel to the picture plane. The shadows on the wall would be nicer I think if they were cast lower down, again emphasizing the downward view.

Hope that gives you some stuff to think about and play around with in this or future images.

Dean

about the crits: they're all good for the most part..I think I could go in lots of different directions with this image. Mainly, I think the next one will be a little more thought-out from the beginning. It's so easy to get caught in the moment, while you're playing with new tools - and forget to plan and sketch enough. About the colors, well here we disagree. I really didn't want extreme color. If you think it's flat, well so be it. On the Lizard's head, well I need a little more...please be specific. The perspective is probably a little off, but try and draw the scene past the borders, and tell me what you think. I think it would still work.. So, not a perfect image,,,but this definitely helps for next time.
