i like the first pic better, because of the composition, and the softer shading in background gives it a good underwater-touch  |

I have nothing to critique about it, anything I could say would only take away from the feel of the pic. I unfortunately don't reply much but something about this pic caught my attention. It's good stuff! (Or maybe it's just the "night time" causing me to say stuff I normally wouldn't say during the day) Regardless, your use of shading really adds dimension to the pic. I love the atmosphere, the rendering is great. Depth is working well.
