Sorry for the bump........I just didn't want this to get lost in the flood of great new artwork.

I worked really hard on this and it's the first tutorial I've ever made. =/

So instead of playing "Mr. Cool" and letting this get lost in the suffle......I'd like one or two more comments.

If anyone has anything else to say that is. =/

Hope folks don't think I'm an ass for this.

well, the only part i dont like is the area around the eyes, like the eyelashes and eyelid and eyebrow. the eyelash looks way too chunky. the lip gloss is very nice and the lighting is beautiful. overall, extremely well done!

yeah good work i didn't notice the original cause it looks so much like the finished painting. you should also include in your tutorial the layer under your sketch/copy.

I gotta agree with what roundeye said... I think perhaps the eyelids are a bit too overdone with the makeup. It almost stands out at cartoony to me, everything else is extremely smooth and realistic.

Post your blue-eyed gal.. I like her a lot =)

Nice work.

Thats great cybertoker. I love the soap, very well done. I agree with roundeye about the lashes though.

On a side note, Why is it people feel the need to make little animated gifs starting with reference photos and ending with the painting? What are you trying to prove? In this case he was trying to 'redo' the reference photo and the fact that it matches very weel only says to me that he accomplished his goal. There isn't always some conspiracy to fool you into thinking someone painted something that they didnt.

I think your choice of reference has too much saturated color and and lack of good 'realist' points of view... hence people looking at the tut and not being able to tell that the first image is a photo... it looks painterly, so not the best for copying I guess... but you nailed it.

Hi guys!
Im as new as one gets, so I might just be deadwrong. But why take a picture that already looks "photoshop'ed" and redo it?
Nomatter how good the work is in this case, the photo is still better. The face in the photo has some more contrast to the neck, modeling her face more and giving her more caracter. Is it just me, or is'nt it a waste of time ?
Great paintwork anyway.

Thanx?

I'm not tying to be an ass, but I actually like my painting better than the photo. And I hate most of my work. I'm hyper criticle of it. But, in this case I'm proud of the results. I like my lips better and the hair better than the chick in the photo.

I worked very hard on this and I know it could be better, but as I said in my tut......I'm still learning.

Thanx for the comments and the crits fellas.
As far as the breast is concerned, you have to take foreshortening into account here, because she is laying down somewhat.

I don't like picutres of nekkid chicks, but I must say you did a great job on her! Now this may have been in the origional, but fix the right side of her mouth. See that black line at the corner of her mouth and how it meets a the highlight of her skin right next to it? It makes her mouth look flat and like it doesn't properly meld into her face. Either refer back and find what is creating that disturbance (if anything) or delete the highlight there. Great stuff.

dont know if any of you noticed but that photo is so touched up before he even started that it looks almost like a painting.

its almost a painting of a painting.

I would rather see you do that to a velasquez or a sargent though so you can learn something other than how to copy.

nice effort though.
