critique away if you would. I covered up the bear in the final picture with the skeletal thing because I got bored and didn't want to work on it anymore.

oh yeah and I colored one of Jenn's cool cool drawings. I haven't worked much with more than one light source, so critiques about that would be helpful.

jenn's thread

oh yeah i'll also throw in these cool open canvas sessions I've done with Icannon and Jenn.

oh yeah P.S.

Does anyone know of any online resources for painting with Gouache? I came upon some tubes today and I'd love to try them out. Do you thin it out with water? doooo you uh put it in cups? can you mix white with black to make values? help

you do all of the above with gouache, it's the paint that's inbetween oil and watercolor, in that you can play with the consistancy, and the stroke won't be permanent, like oil, but it won't run or puddle like a watercolor. it's very cool.

mendler: Sounds fun. What do you thin it out with? I'm guessing water.. These's tubes are so tiny they're 17ml tubes. Does seem like I can get much done with just 17ml.

I really like the skeleton one although it seems to be lifting of the background a bit too much (probably has more to do with the fact that the skeleton is very well defined whereas the background isn't). I would try to make the style / colouring a bit more consistant between the skeletons lower ribs and the pile of bones that it is merging up from. You might also be able to make more of a spotlight effect with the light coming down from the top to add a bit more atmosphere. Jenn's character colouring is cool too although some of the colours on the body seem a bit dark. Nice work though.
