While the forums were down I was trying to create stuff of a marketable quality. I need advice from professionals as well as the rest of us amateurs: Is this image of a reasonably good enough quality to pitch to magazines and such?(Minus the far background)
Any comments are welcome. |

This is a really good pic.
Only thing that's weird is where you've pointed your light source. Seems like there is a spotlight falling on the wooden wall while the guy has more diffused light.
Overall its good and you could at least pitch it to Dragon magazine or something like that. |

I would say you are pretty well there.
Awesome rendering (except for that spotlight issue).
You signature is a bit distracting, make it smaller, and get some line variation into it. |

Yeah, you guys are right about the wall. I didn't spend as much time on that or the far background. I spent most of my time on the figure and facial aspects of the piece - something I usually have trouble with. I'm still not completely there yet.
If I did end up sending it somewhere I would crop it or cut out the best parts and make a postcard of it or something. Thanks for the input though. It's people like we have here in the forums that would read the magazines I'll end up pitching my work to. |
