Hey everyone,

It is not often, but from time to time I post sculptures here. Here is a bunch of characters I have completed. You guys always inspire me to sculpt so I thought maybe I could inspire you in some way

I really love your Alice characters. Their "zoned-out" expressions, really amuses me. It help put me in the mind set of the characters, when I need to be creative, or when I feel like weirding all my friends and family out.

Those are beutiful man ...
I love them .. and i love clay ..
I sometimes sculpt things from paper clay out of boredom ...
But i ALways have problems when it comes to sculpting the human head and features, especially the female of the species ...

Do you have any tips ?

Hey guys,

The clay I use is Van Aken brand clay. It is sometimes called claytoon clay, and sometimes Will Vinton's claymation time clay. But they are all the same thing. The clay comes in many colors and never hardens so you can animate it.

For sculpting females here are some things I learned while sculpting Alice: Females have longer necks - the hair style makes a huge difference - the jaw almost blends into the neck under the ears - and the bridge of the nose should almost not exist, just the tip.
