I'm working alone as a 3d ride film animator, responsible for every aspect from design to rendering. It's killing me, and I'm looking for a job that will move me far away from where I am.
Also, one that will have people that I can learn from. I love this forum, but I want to hang with some artists, and have someone to help me.

the web page is www.mds3d.com

I like the job, it's just getting to be too much to do all by myself.

There's a thread in Digital art discussion section that has everyone's job title and what company they work for.

Basically, people here are:
1)freelance illustrators
2)concept artists
3)special effects artists
3)animators
4)game artists(2D and 3D)
5)comic book artists
6)graphics design/web designers
7)aspiring artists
8)students
9)rip-off artists

Did I miss anyone?

I fit nicely into one of Lunatique's categories, I'm afraid--I'm a freelance illustrator and shameless profiteer. I make about 75% of my income from commissions, and 25% from print sales. I just set up my website to handle credit card ordering for prints, though, so I'm hoping I'll start making a bit more on the prints end of things soon. I put up a few auctions on e-bay from time to time, and include a link to my site, and that seems to help quite a bit, too.

Oh, yeah. And I'm also a student at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.

Yep, yep. Consider me pigeonholed.

I work for a graphics company dealing in the golf industry, doing fly-throughs of golf courses mainly, along with pretty 3D yardage book graphics, business cards, websites.. yeah.

I usually find myself making websites, logos, business cards, catalogs and work with texturing and some 3D graphics, sometimes AutoCAD. It's an decent job for where I am in my education (just graduated from high school).. and I'm learning new things all the time. We get free dew, too Graphic design isn't something I'm totally going for in the future though.. I hope to get a job illustrating or concepting in games, maybe movies someday.

Just out of sheer curiosity. I've seen some incredible artist as well as some up and coming artists and then a question arose. What does everybody do for a living? I know some of you get to actually use you skills in the "real" world. So what does everyone do?
I guess I'll start. Me I am a Web Designer/3d modeler in training. I got laid off about three months ago after the company went under. Doing some contract job now.

next...

I work for an Online Career Information service. We employ like 160 people and there are 5 artists. I handle cartoons for one of the services and I do a small amount of HTML.

I just started work as an independent contractor 3D artist for Vision Scape yesterday. I've worked in game development as a 3D artist mostly doing low poly character modeling for about 9 years on several forgettable games, but a few are well known.

Well I was a Multimedia Design student up until yesterday when my course finished.

Just have to wait for my results and the graduation ceremony now.

I'm currently keeping my eye open for work of some kind in this field. At the moment there is glimmer of a job as a Lingo Programmer using Macromedia Director *crosses fingers*

I'm 19 and I own a small art gallery. It's non-profit, so that kinda sucks.
