Hey Cos, I like the painted and you have a great technique. Its the best colour study I've seen for a while, now why don't you go ahead and finish the painting? If you used mild sprays for the three primary colours it should look more realistic also. I think you did a great job, so are you a profession artist? |

Holy macaroni!
My only criticism is that you wouldn't really expect the front of your tunic to be in shadow, with that big ol' lightsabre held in front of it.
But other than that... I'm utterly stunned by this. |

Sorry Cos but I just have to do this:
EPISODE 2
ATTACK OF THE CLONES
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
I love the lightsabre effect ny the way it is very convincing
Is he a light or dark jedi??? He has the robes of a good jedi but the lightsabre of an evil Jedi. just being a techinical Star Wars geek...sorry...

wow lots and lots of replies, wasn't expecting this many.. Some really good crits here, I agee with alot if them. What I intended was the face to be the main focus of the pic, and to get sketchier as it works its way out, as I don't like the every square inch totally polished look. Looking back at this now tho, I think his robe (his shoulders mainly) and his hair should of got a little tighter.. Ok lets have a go at replying to everyone.
Hethebar - Thankyou, I do prefer a rougher painted look.
Nickmarksdotcom - hehe thanks, yeah the eye and scar was abit of artsistic liscense =)
jcFIG - Thanks =)
Breakerboy2 - Thankyou.
Enayla - Thankyou very much, means alot =)
Bishop - Thanks, I did try adding the tint to that while I was working this, but I wasn't prefering it. But I see it could have had more reflectiveness.
Pat - I'm friendlier than I look hehe =) Thanks!
Adigra - Thanks alot! good advice too, although I don't think I'm gonna go back to this.. Braid woulda been cool tho.
Boomstick - thx, I tried darkening his right side too but it seemed to lose an impact from the b/g.
Java - Thanks.
Simuartist - thx, Coulda picked up a saber from a dead opponent? or maybe its a symbolism that he is turning to the darkside? orr maybe he's still making his mind up
Gordillo - Thanks
Shiro_tengu - hehe thankyou =)
Menace - Thanks
gLitterbug - Thanks
fleabrain - Thankyou
Tepox - Thanks
Leo - Thanks! =)
Kazz - hehe

Frost - Thanks man..
Defiant - well its already finished.. I don't understand what u mean by sprays? airbrush? The whole piece was done with paintbrush.. I agree it could of had more work but I want to move on now. I feel I learn and progress better like that. I do some freelance work but I'm not a fulltime proffesional. and Thankyou =)
Slightly Twisted - Thanks =) It's a good point about that shadow, but when I was lightening up that area it was losing atmosphere..
Superbug - thx
Morbidguy - thanks alot man! =))
Rhomb - Thanks man!
psy - It's true it could of had some tightening but yeah, I'm done with it =) Thanks!

Hehe, I've always been bothered that lightsabers never appeared to cast any ambient light in the movies.
Way cool pic man.
