recently, I was talking with a friend about my favorite movies, and realized that most of my favs. hinged on the quality of the villain. Some of my favorite include:
Kevin Spacey as "John Doe" in Seven.
Gary Oldman as "Norman Stansfield" in The Professional.
Christian Bale as "Patrick Bateman" in American Psycho.
Tim Roth as "Archibald Cunningham" in Rob Roy.
There are many others (just about anyone played by John Malkovich). Post some of your favs. as well as your favorite lines (mine include just about any line from Army of Darkness). |

"Mommie ..." inhales the oxygen " ... Moooommie ..." - he's just bad ... |

Well...vader wasn't really a villan...
And even if he was I'd still claim that the Emperor was much more villanious than him...
Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element was really good I think...carismatic, evil and both smart and stupid at the same time...
Buuuuut, I really can't pick out ONE favourite...I've seen way too many movies to make that choice... |

Oh yeah, how could I forget about Christopher Walken. Even when he plays a cameo villain, like in "True Romance" he is one evil S.O.B. I especially liked him as Gabrial in "The Prophecy".
I also like General Woundwart. He was downright demonic (as far as fuzzy, little, bunnies go). |

Sorry I just got off the stupid train.
James Earl Jones in Conan. He had such the scary (bad 80's) thing going on.
Robert DiNero in almost anything he has done (Godfather 2) as the villian and the protagonist.
Humongous (sp) in Road Warrior
Hugo Weaving in Matrix |

I thought Gary Oldman was an awesome villian in Air Force One!
The girl in Along came a spider was pretty good too. |

Jaws was a pretty damn good villain, but, my favorite has got to be Gary Oldman in Leon.
[Edit: Both the shark and good old metal-tooth in the old James Bond movies]

Yeah, Jaws was great. It seems like Gary oldman is another one of those all around good villains. anyone catch him in "True Romance" (that movie had a lot of good villains) as Alabama's pimp. He did a great job there, although he didn't live long. |

John Malkovich as the Vicomte in 'Dangerous Liaisons'. And Glenn Close as the villainess. The two of them were brilliant.
Mmm...Christopher Walken...droool.... I've thought he was gorgeous since that one James Bond movie he was in.... |

My favorate would have to be a toss up between Anthony Hopkins as Hannable Lector (Silence of the Lambs, Hannable) and Jack Nickolson as Jack Torrence (The shining). And one more, Natasha Henstrige in Species (note: not the second one, that sucked)
My least favorate villians are as follows. Paul Riser as Carter Burke (Aliens). Whoever played Hammond's nephew in The Lost World. Doctor smith from Lost in Space, It doesn't matter who played him. Oh, and any actor who used to be affiliated with professional wrestling, the most retarded form of entertainment yet to be created. |

I'm not saying he's necessarily my favorite ever, but... Tatsuya Nakadai in Sword of Doom. He plays a psychopathic murderer very well(perhaps a little too well.. hmmm). |
