Well, I am not too good at anatomy, but I think his ear should be a bit lower (if I remember it well, it must be placed between the eye and the nose).
But I think it is a really good pic. |

very nice! good skin-tones, and cool hair!
only something about his hat disturbs me, hmmm, maybe it looks too 'witchy' (?)
and yes... welcome back ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

I know you! You made this freak with the cramped legs some weeks ago. And we met on painchat. Great work. Quite different to your former postings tho. hope to see you more frequent here!
I think the hat could use more details. maybe a ribbon or something? or make it loke worn in a way.
I don't know if you want to change anything tho. |

It's been a while buddy. I guess you have had work up to your neck, huh? well on to the pic...
It's quite different than your usual style, maybe its all the black...? well, atleast I think the strong highligt on the tip of the nose looks a bit wrong, like his nose has been turned/twisted/whatever...
well... It's still a save as... It reminds med of one of your older b&w-sketches... |

Very nice bro. Im right in the middle of reading LOTR. This is a good job though. The skinn is great. The hair is good to.
My only crit would be the Hat. For starters it looks like it is a Top Hat. Second I think if you added some highlights on it to bring it out a bit that would help define the light sorce and bring out the hat a bit more.
But I applaud your good job.
SWEET
Go Gandalf...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Very cool, but there's one thing I noticed straight away, the perspective on the hat seems wrong, I mean the ellipse created at the base of the hat looks like it should be a more shallow ellipse value.
...again, I'm just being picky, it's a really nice painting! |

hay hurricane, good to see u posting again d00d, been awhile. Really cool pic, Your painting has really improved man. This has great realism to it, I like the crusty dirty look you got to the skin, shadows are great too.
Crits wise the ear looks in a wrong position, maybe needs a little more work too. As the lighting is coming from the right, you would maybe see more detail.
All in all this is really great work. Hope u post more stuff soon =) |

A lot of character in this one. Nice gloomy feel, it'll make the image more interesting if there were more variety in the hues.

Ooooh, nice. Very good picture of (a rather sinister looking) Gandalf, just how I imagine him.
Although... for some reason I keep thinking of Oliver Twist's Fagan. It's the hat, I think. *shrugs* |

Very nice stuff hurricane. I especially like the hair. Very well done.
the only crits I have are that it looks like from his forehead to his chin is jutting out foreward a little from where the hat is lying. The other one was that it looks like his right nostril (your left) is a bit low.
But very good stuff. I love your skin texture as well. Gritty take on Gandalf

Hi Hi!! Great Job Hurricane. Man.. did this take on Gandalf u did inspired after watching the LOTR trailer? when Gandalf (Ian Mclellan) steps out of the dark and the camera does a close up and he says "Is It SAFE?!"
Really KEwl.. And HEY... I'm in the midst of LOTR book one Fellowship of the Rings as well!! I've read alot of Fantasy books but have never really manage to sit down and finish LOTR (I HAVE NO CLUE WHY, and i gobble up books/novels in days...and I've even read all 5 of Frank Herbert's DUNE! hehehe) But this time i was determined to finish it. I've now gone passed the pages that i have never seem able to pass before, and am loving every bit of Frodo's travels now. Cant wait for the Movie!
Bah.. Rambled again! Sowwy.
