Heh, I had to share this. Before working for Ritual I worked for an electronic game company called Radica Games. http://www.radicagames.com I did several conceptual pieces for them while I was there and found out today that they decided to use some of them in the package design for Skannerz. This is my first mass produced and distributed artwork.
And here is the original pencil art for the snake creature:

Congratulations Bobo!
I checked out Radica's site. They have some neat stuff there - quite creative. You never know when a company like that will hit the 'Tamagochi' jackpot. Hope you've got a stake in it if they do.
Radiater.
ps. I finally had a chance to watch the tutorial you made a while back. Thanks, it has given me some ideas to help my own painting. Cheers! |

BoBo_the_seal, the snake creature u did looks like the character from the starcraft alien creature, a pc game from blizzard entertainment... does ur inspirations came from there? |

Heh, yea the product is pretty cool if it takes off like they want it to. They are basically taking on Pokemon and Digimon but are trying to make it a bit edgier by playing more on the actual monster aspect. This is its first incarnation and is a handheld LCD game. The cool aspect of it is the scanner technology. Kids can scan any barcode to find monsters, weapons, and magic. They are hoping this will be a popular toy for kids to take to the grocery store with their parents. They could run a around scanning products to find creatures to battle. You can also uplink with others and fight “head to head”. If this is successful they plan to possibly do a gameboy tie end in the future for Skannerz 2 or 3.
Heh, ok the pitch aside, this was probably the most enjoyable thing I worked on while there and I hope they do well with it.
I have found the art for the rest of the characters. These where done about a year ago before I had a wacom tablet. They where done in a day and where only meant to help pitch the project. I would have invested more time into them if I had known that they where going to be used for packaging. There are several things I would have changed but I think they served their purpose and I am just excited that any of my art was used.
Ok onto the art. Do to file size; I am going to just link them so this thread does not get bogged down any more than it already is.
