Hey..

Did this dude after I saw Dhabihs pic he did for the professor thread ages ago..
I love that pic he did

Anyway, that inspired me to do a crazy scientist pic myself

Anyway I constricted my self to 2 1/2 hours for this pic. Just to try and get me to paint faster..

Im a bit disapointed with it... It doesnt look as cool as i'd hoped.. Anyway..

Heh, I thought somebody had ripped off Dhabih's images

I did see his professor pic in somebody's sig on the something awful forums, but it was really small and cropped to about 40x40 pixels.
I can't get your image to load for some reason.

Man, Freddio. You seem kinda defensive. Not that it's uncommon from us artistic types. I got one post on my paintings for Dragon mag, that made me hate the whole bunch for a bit... after putting so much into something you've created, it's no small thing to have people glance at it and voice their distastes. The guy who wrote the post that killed my liking for my work, came back and made sure I knew that he liked my works, and really had to search to find the flaws... he was only trying to help.

Granted, there are those here who just like to get a rise out of folks, and to them, I'm no big fan. What it all comes down to, is that you're doing some very cool stuff, here, and shouldn't worry about the curt crits.

All that having been said, I think you've done some cool stuff here. Painter, right? I think I spy an 'apply lighting' feature here an' there. I use them quite often too, but try to disguise it better, unless that's what you're going for. It works great for the spotlight effect. I also think you may have used the glow brush, but I'm not sure (good job!).

Overall, this is a very solid piece. A fun one to study. I agree that the lighting is off... but not to the point that it's cumbersome. In my opinion, it would be cool to see a catch-light on the entire length of his form, on the front. I don't know if that made any sense.. oh! RIM lighting! Not catch-light.. rim light. There.. that should make some sense.

Great mood, too. I really dig the green stuff. Are you gonna work on this some more? If so: Cool -I can't wait to see the finished product. If not: Cool -I can't wait to see more.
