Here is an illustration that I did for a Night club VIP card...It will be 3.5 x 2" when printed...This was coverted to CMYK then brought back to RGB for this Jpeg...I am hoping that the greens look brighter and better than this when it is printed on glossy stock and UV coated...Anyone got and CMYK green printing tips? I had to use it the bar is called Limelight?! I am sort of happy with this any crits are welcome... |

I agree with you roundeye and so did our buddy at Limelight...I so tired and I just wanted to finish this thing...But here it is again with the text changes....I also included the back and a roughish concept that got rejected...It's a photograph...but hey I'm more of a designer than an illustrator unfortunately...all art work is shown with it 1/8" bleed...as always sorry about my speeling...
front
back
concept
my friend took the photo...he rocks! |

JOO!
What's the style of music and how much is to enter? I wanna check out this place! Heh, the advantage of living in TO! :P
I know a good drum'n'bass one is Area 51 on Adelaide.
And I love the lake concept - imo, make it a peaceful green valley - people will ROFL. |

There are a couple things you could do to preserve a bright green look. I don't know everything - I'm just an intern at a really good design firm. I guess it all depends on your budget. Glossy paper will always help, but you can go one step further by selecting a gloss varnish for green, or making a channel for a spot color, etc, etc...I don't know the specifics, but if all else fails: ask the printer you're using! |

A spot color would help. you could expand the color gamut out a bit with it....i think. green is the one spot color i don't use much, but based on what i've experienced it should be brighter than cmyk.

WHen I first looked at it I thought - now thats cool. Then I looked at just the lines defining the people and thought - that one's a little off, this one needs somthing... then I looked at the whole design and decided - yep, it's a good, cool design. It does just what it needs to do.
Just to give you a crit - The guy right in the middle with the raised glass, he mouth line for the smile just looks; undefined, doodled, simple - something like that. The guy behind him with the hat is great and the one over to the left (with the open mouth) is great. It's just somthing about that mouth line - maybe it needs a quirky twist in it or a suggestion of the other lip? That's the only item that caught me.
And a suggestion? - did you try flipping the back cutout horizontally? so its the true reverse of the front? maybe too gimiky.
Very nice.
imo- in my opinion, rofl- rolling on floor laughing

Thanks for the comments Insane...I must admit that I am new to posting and I have no idea what "imo" or "people will ROFL" means?..What are you talking about?...As for the music at Limelight it changes with the night...it is a good place for cheap drinks...check their website at;

Beat Junkie (also on Adelaide) use to have a really good Drum and Bass night on Wednesdays...I also saw the hottest girl in the world there...Her name is Shannon (I call her Snowboard Girl) and she went to George Brown's graphic design program for two years then vanished...if you know her, get her to call me... |

Not a bad design looks pretty cool to me.
How bout getting me one of those cards, i've been to limelite a few times, not a bad place. Although i don't see the point of it, i never had a problem getting in. |
