Here's my latest piece. I am very pleased with it at the moment, but that may change; I typically like stuff right after I finish but have to wait a few days and look at it fresh to really decide.
How is it? Whatever comments you can volunteer are appreciated. |

Wow, it's nice to see something this unique once in awhile! I dig the whole Jules Verne-iness of it. My only crits would be that the robot's right hand (viewer's left) doesn't look like it's supporting the pot. It needs to be cupped closer to the surface of the pot, like the other hand is. I was going to say that the light source was too diffuse, but it actually makes it look like the inside of a greenhouse. Good job! |

hmmmm.....forum was down when I tried to reply yesterday.
Jimbo Jones: Unique! Thank you! I know when someone says "well that's certainly different," that they actually don't like it. But unique, that means I'm actually getting close to some sort of originality. Which is what everyone strives for (I think). Thanks! I like the Jules Verne comment too, everyone I've shown this to immediately proclaims "steampunk!"
The lighting: yes, I spent many hours studying the light from a greenhouse and came up with this....Actually no, I didn't...hehe. Sounds like one of those helpful accidents.
The hand: Yes, I can see how that looks kind of wrong. I'll fix that when I get time.
dreddawg: NYC baby! Thanks for the compliment! |
