So this is how it turned out... I waited too long before I figured out how the other character (the green bloke to the right) should look...but I think he turned out okay...though I liked the cover better with the girl only.
I wanna thank you all for being a GREAT help...really!! I don't know how I managed to paint anything and not knowing this forum =D

Crits and comments are welcome

see you all in a post soon.

Now that is nice...has great balance to it, which is strange as most of the detail in the comp is to the right ..I think it must be the way the rain draws you to the characters..

I like very much..

this is a great piece. i really like the composition of it, especially the flowing water. The line work on the girl is fantastic, but the goblin character isnt as strong. he is not interesting to me, very dull, too cartoony. Although you are obviously rendering them in a cartoon fashion, the girl still looks realistic due to the lighting and anotomy. the goblin like character is not as realistic. keep up the good work.

I could never sit down and color a whole picture like that. I always end up copping out and just making the background one color or putting some text and logos and shit behind em.

that's pretty sweet.

I really like this painting...I do agree that the goblin character is not as strong as the girl, but it looks great none the less...my only problem is that the rain and the girls hair don't coincide...rain blows the direction of the wind...and if the rain is going towards the right, her hair should be doing the same...I might be cracking out...but that's something that stuck out to me. Awesome Job!

I posted in your WIP thread, but I need to reaffirm to you that I think this is so incredible! I adore this image. I think that I can honestly say that this is the best digital piece of artwork I've seen in the past 6 months, and believe me, that's saying a lot.

You rule man. Larger version maybe?

I do agree in the goblin character not being so strong... :-(
And the wind in the hair and the rain...well...i wanted the rain to blow that way...and the hair the other...dunno...maybe it's the goblin blowin? ;-)

cheers you all...
I have many pics to do for this book...more posts coming up...

Wow....thats one of my favorite pictures I've seen recently. My only crit is that the character on the right doesnt fit the quality of the rest of the image.

lovely setting and atmosphere.
though i think rain droplets fall pretty parallel to each other, unless every millisecond the wind strength changes

If there is so much rain and it is flooding, then there should be water drops coming off the tree, them and the rocks, and roots.

This is a Freaking awesome pic. I saw your wip version. This is really great stuff.

i really love it, one thing though, when looking at this peice, that rock on the bottom right REALLY attracts my eye, and takes me Away from the characters. just something you might want to take into consideration ?

Wow, eBoy.. This is awesome... It's just an incredible mood piece..

Since most everyone (including yourself) seems to agree that the little green guy isn't quite up to par with the rest of the image, could you maybe post a version without him, if it's not too much trouble? I keep trying to imagine the picture without him and it seems to me that the mood would be even stronger if the girl were totally alone..

Awesome, awesome, awesome picture, though.. I'm jealous.
