Burn0ut: Ewww… don’t mention her in my thread! *laughs* Just kidding. Thanks.

Afex: Vampire the Masquerade – roleplaying game.

The Brat: Heeh =) Thanks. I used to have a lot of trouble with them.

Awetopsy: Mmmm… you might be right. I’m too lazy to fix it though *giggle* Thanks.

Socar Myles: Yes… yes, you’re right. Tried to fix it a little after your comment, but I’m not sure if it looks better.

DiXter: Thankee =) Jag ska frska =)

Ballistic: Yes… I think you’re right, thank you. I didn’t really think about that. Not sure if I’ll go back to edit this picture though – I have so much work to do it’s not even funny.

Slicer: Okey, thanks =)

Visigoth: You’re hopeless ;) Thank you. Well… and yeah, I’m single =P HAPPILY single ;D

Ebrian: Thank you =) You need to go look at my hair tutorial if you like how I draw hair. As always, I’ve forgotten the link to it though =( Anyone else knows it?

Jr: Thank you.

GoldenBoy: Well… she’s supposed to look bitchy.

Mime: Thankee =D

Blitz: Thank you =)

Kaylon: Well, not quite well yet, but I’ll live ;) Thank you very much =D

[666]Flat: Not that I can see how it’s monstrous, but thank you ;) *grins* And I’m glad you like my colours.

Catnip: Photoshop 5.5 or 6.01… and a Wacom Intuos Tablet.

Eric Pommer: Well… I did it with a lot of patience *chuckles* Glad you like it. I’m getting very mixed opinions on her lace.

Danny: Wow, I’m glad to see you back here again =) It’s been a while. Thank you ever so much, though it makes me a bit nervous to be compared to the big ol’ Spooge ;)

Cos: Thanks =D

Morbid Guy: Thank you =)

Vgta: Heh, thanks. That tutorial is an oooold one. I don’t really work that way anymore. I’m doing a new tutorial for Wacom now but I’ve had a bit of a mess with it. It should be up within a month or so.

Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for the comments everyone!!

I like the image a lot. There are a lot of strong points, especially the hair. However one of the eyes is very off so I fixed it a bit. I will post a side by side to show you what I mean.

EDIT: Fine if you think her eyes look ok then keep it that way ,but there was nothing wrong with my fix. It certainly wasnt to big and off angel. I mean to be more honest her face is disperportionate also ...the eye is completly wrong as if it where a mutation rather then a lazy eye.

Simuartist: Well... most of the time, I do appreciate credits, and even paintovers... but I do reserve the right to disagree, occasionally. This is one such occasion. Her eyes look screwed up, like that. One Much larger and looking almost as if it's about to pop out. I am well aware of the fact that it's slightly smaller on my image - but such irregularities are most human. She might be a vampire... but she IS still human.

On your edit, however, it's not just too big, it's also angled completely wrong in her face. I'm sorry... if I /am/ going to edit her eyes (which I intended to, if I bother to work on the picture some more) it most certainly won't be like that. Thanks for the effort, though.

Simuartist - I saw the changes you made earlier and u totally screwed it up.
The way you positioned the eye, it looked like it was turned at a total different angle from the the position of the head...head turned one way, eye the other...
u screwed it up, and it looked ridiculous, it's just fine as it is..
...If anyone has a problem with an ego around here it is you, get over it.

Beautiful, as always Enayla. You shouldn't even answer to the 13 years old who tries to pass himself as a concept artist. You're well above the level of most of the people on this forum. Criticizing your work on a technical level is just ridiculous.
Keep painting, and please keep sharing those paintings with us.

Aww have you been sick Enayla!

Just ignore the repaint man - the proportions on your vamp make her look extra sexy anyway! Its ridiculous to criticise your technique.

As other people have said theres something magical about the lace. Black and Red hmmm...

This reminds me of the nice portraits in Bauldur's Gate 2. Its really nice to look at (Sheahs Purty!). I didn't notice the proportions were off that noticably (i'm an amatuer), but most people obviously don't follow the perfect head proportions and still attain beauty (I took a straight-edge to my head a while ago and found my eyes are a little off toO! boo!). Hehe its funny, most pictures of Mariah Carrey have her facing a certain direction or hair covering one of her eyes because her eyes are uneven heh. I wish you were using painter so you could show us a video of you at work. Oh well. You are an inspiration! </brown nose>

she wasn't a peach about your crits, but she wasn't rude the way you're being, and your crits were both unrequested and poorly documented, you're just being insulting and an ass to a respected poster and longtime contributor to this community. in short- go fuck yourself.

Not to get on a bandwagon or anything, but, well son, you need to step back and relax.

Enayla has been posting excellent work for a very long time around here. You are allowed an opinion, but that does not mean that you need to be down right rude.

Make constructive points, and leave it at that.

Please feel free to post your works of grandeur for all to view and admire, than we too shall see from wence you came (talk or trash, your call, son).

Glad youre feeling better and up and painting/posting again Enayla.
Amazing work(always, geez) no matter if the proportions are wrong, its how the bleedin pic looks that matters, not if its theoretically wrong. Atleast thats my opinion...

By the way, do you see simularities to what is happening to this place and what happened to Elfwood? Huge increase in members, and also lousy artists and sodding wankers?

Just speculating...

What I actually meant by lousy artist was people posting here, when it is quite obvious they have put no real effort into it or perhaps just posting here of spite, recieving mostly flames as replys or being generally ignored. And many of these fall into the sodding wanker category shortly afterwards...
I did not mean lousy artist in the sence of someone who tries to learn by posting here but is not Enayla or Spoogeish quality. Im one of those, f'r gods sake...
Anyway, this isnt really the place for this. Sorry to have offended you...

To ot post in Enaylas thread I gotta ask... how does that pearl stay on on her forehead? Glue?

Really nice work, beautiful. I love the expression and the natural looking hair.

A bit a subtle shading under the lace might help to bring it to life more. Just a thought.

Anyway, keep practicing, I'm sure you'll get the hang of this painting thing in no time.

Thanks people =) Cheers me up to see so many people appreciating my work, especially since I've been feeling pretty down lately.

As for Mr. Edit guy.. No need to get so aggressive.

Sorry, no, I still don’t agree. Like I said before, I appreciate crits when I can see that there's a point to them, but I do reserve the right to not agree with them sometimes (I am not an amateur. Not a complete one, at any rate). A friend of mine actually laughed out loud when he saw your first edit. To be quite honest, so did I.

Like I said before in this thread, I’ve been sick. I made this picture quickly, and I’m not really that happy with it – though I’m glad everyone else seems to like it. I didn’t agree with you. I can see errors in her face but I did not think you fixed them. Is that something to get pissed off over? It’s my piece of art. If you want to do a paint over, you have to accept that the person who drew the picture doesn’t always agree with you. We all have different opinions. If I changed every image I did to accommodate every person who gives me crits, I would be doing nothing else.

And the lines you draw tell me nothing. Let me draw some other lines for you before I log off and go back to doing something useful.

That was your opinion, this is mine - but for gods' sake, give it a rest. I'm not interested in changing it. I'm sick, I've got tons of work to do, and I actually kind of like it as it is, flaws or no flaws. And again, if I /do/ change it, it will still not be according to the edits you made.

And quit drawing lines across my pictures... Take a picture of your own face and try the same, and see if the different parts match up. They won't.

Visigoth: Heheh...

Simuartist: Oh please. You come, brand new at a forum, and the first thing you do is throw up an over paint. I don't agree with it. So? It is my right as an artist to not agree with crits. I know there's something wrong with her eyes - it has already been pointed out to me by someone else - but I still did not agree with your overpaint. I can take crits and I always appreciate those crits I think actually are useful... I didn't agree with yours. Live with it.

(And as a moderator, I feel the need to point out that there is no reason to be rude and start throwing insults, dear. Calm down, take a cold glass of water, and rethink your attitude. I'm not saying my art is flawless in any way. It's not. I'm always looking for new ways to improve. What I /am/ saying is that I did not like your overpaint and I did not like your attitude.)

Thanks for the support, guys. Let's just not turn this into a flame of any kind (if it seems to become one, I'll just have to close the thread).

I do believe that people have the right to offer criticism on art that is beyond their own technical ability. Art isn't completely based on technique, after all.

As for this painting, there are a LOT of anatomical flaws. I didn't take too long in making it, I'm not altogether too happy with it (which anyone who had read my first post probably could tell) but I'm not interested in altering it because I'm tired and right now just plain sick of this picture.

The issue wasn't whether or not he had the right to criticise (or was it a she?) my art. Anyone has the right to do that. It was his/her approach, and the fact that s/he wouldn't accept me not thinking that the paint over was well rendered. I've never been so high and mighty as to not want criticism. Anyone who's seen me around the forum knows that it's quite the contrary as far as I'm concerned. I like crits. From people that are less skilled than me, and from those who are more skilled.

As for the gemstone on her forehead... She once met a really nasty Vampire. Something called a Tzimisce that decided to marr her appearance, if only by a little. The lady left a mark of a fingertip upon her forehead... an ugly one. Emily didn't appreciate the other vampire's attempt to ruin her appearance... so the gemstone is her answer to it. Yes, believe it or not, it's glued in place. I know exactly what kind of glue, too.

I made the mistake of using it, once, when I glued a fake beak unto my face on Halloween (because I was dressing up as a bird-woman, complete with black wings and all. All the feathers I had glued to my face, ears, neck and chest were a reaaaaaal mess to remove). Once glued on, I can tell you it's difficult to remove... ow.

(Edit) Nearly forgot... I used to have my tutorial up on Elfwood... but Elfwood died, and I can't even access the latest version of the tutorial, because that's the ONLY place where I had it.

The not updated version can be found at:

My Hair

Give me some time... planning on a webpage of my own. My tutorials will be up there.
