wow I really like the head and the backdrop..
but the collar throws off the perspective (I think that's why it looks a bit "off").. you can't tell how his head is positioned within the collar.. other than that, I like it.. colors.. ballance.. and the red LED on the gadget on his chest |

nice rendering just a few things
his lips are off set to our right a bit too much and his collar is way to big. I guess think about it in a 3d enviroment and try to visualice how the collar would follow the contour of his neck.
I'm guessing you did this in Painter? |

Wow, I like this.
Someone already commented on the lips, which is the only flaw I can find... so I'll comment on something else instead.
I really love your choice of colours. I've never seen a guy (you are a guy, right?) use soft reds/purples like this when drawing an image of a rugged man like the one in your picture.
If someone had described the image like "a picture of a rather mean looking, serious guy, with soft tones of pink, mauve, beige and purple" I'd have laughed... but you pull it off beautifully =) |

thx ppl, I've given the pic a quick edit, The changes are mostly slight. Namely widened that lip a touch, and moved the jacket area on our left up, didn't have much room for his trap and shoulders how it was.
McFly - thnx man, I'm not totally sure what u meant about the collar tho? He's turning his head which is why the collar bit on the left is covering his chin..
Vgta - Thanks, I agree on the crits, think it's a little better now.
Enayla - Thanku =), Glad you liked it. I haven't done much in the way of potraits until lately, and you are like the queen of potraits! so It's a big compliment With the colours, hey why would u laugh!? not like we have seperate colours for boys and girls now Yeah I'm a guy =) |

Looken Good Cos my man.
Some nice color work going on in there. And his face has a good textur to it as well.
The lips seem a little off center...I think they should be moved more toward the right part of the face.
Other than that...Damn...Looken good bro.

Yah His right hehe.
Now that Im looking at it, it could be his bottom lip that is kinda off...the middle(the fater part) of the lip could be moved over to HIS right a bit.
Cheers bro. |

I am a great admirer of your colors, Cos.
You know me from Epi! (that is in answer to your comment in my post..case you didn't see it)
I think the collar does throw it off a bit. But this is a brillant work! I don't think it is boring. I especially like how you get the painted look digitally. Something I have been struggling with. I can learn a lot by studing your work.
Great Stuff!

Heheh, no, those colours aren't reserved for girls.
But they're more often used in softer, gentler kind of pictures... no?
Or am I completely out of it?
I probably am. Heh.

Hey, that looks like a rather mean looking, serious guy, with soft tones of pink, mauve, beige and purple!
It's always nice to see more work |

Blitz - yeah u r probably right, cause his lip is abit flat there. But frakk it, I'm bored of it now =D
Kallen - Kallen, thanku very much =) that's a really nice compliment. I have been working on that traditional look. My advice would be just stick to using the paintbrush, no smudge, smudge is bad if you want a traditional look. Not too much feather on your brushes (like I have on the jacket and b/g on this piece) or that will make the digital look more obvious.
Joe - thx, might have a similar kinda hairline (if I remember right).
wolf - thx, I didn't check the link yet but I will =)
kos - yah, more work is always fun times
Enayla - hehe you got me, I won't try and defend it. Cos used girly colours to paint a big tough guy =) |
